  1. I can't remember what tire it was, but I stared at it for at least 20 minutes, scouring every mm of sidewall for a direction arrow. Then I realized the tread pattern was symmetrical and direction didn't matter.
  2. Posted a bit about it on the "On the bright side" thread, but I've been making my own beef jerky. I've made 4 batches so far experimenting with different flavors. At least half of every batch has been "original" flavor. Marinate overnight in soy sauce, worcestershire, garlic and onion powder, salt, pepper, and brown sugar. I've also done a cajun spice, honey sriracha, and chile lime. The favorites so far have been the original and cajun. The process is pretty easy, but time consuming. I have an electric smoker that works perfectly. After marinating, I hang the beef strips from toothpicks on the racks, put them in the smoker for 1.5 hours @ 170 with no smoke, then add some wood chips (I've only used apple so far) and crank up the temp to 185 to get the smoke going. After those have burnt up, lower the temp to 160 for several more hours until desired level of dryness. Every batch has come out phenomenal. Way better than store bought. Actually, it's about time to start planning my next batch.
  3. So it's their choice to put potentially deadly particulate matter into the air, but I don't have the choice not to breathe. So who's liberties are being threatened here? And yes, this rain has us all in a bad mood.
  4. The other "risks" you list are mitigated by your actions and the actions of others. You probably don't walk around a bad part of town alone at night wearing gang colors. You probably don't dart out in the street when you see granny accelerating. Do you yell "FREEDOM" or "police state" when alifeguardd asks you to get out of the pool when it's lightning? It's a mask. It's not a tracking device or a ball and chain. It's a mask. It could save lives. Where is the downside??
  5. I don't completely disagree, but at the other end of the spectrum, what's up with people who protest and refuse to wear a mask in public? It's like wearing a seatbelt - it is a minor inconvenience and a little uncomfortable, but it might save your life. Unlike seatbelts, it might also save the lives of people around you. This is where (IMO), your argument falls apart a little. It only takes a few assholes that can't follow basic public safety guidelines to put many others at increased risk. It's the lowest common denominator effect.
  6. No. I don't really take any vitamins or supplements.
  7. Sounds like a pretty big load to swallow.
  8. Do you take the D every day or just when you're feeling in need of some D?
  9. Did you test it for covid -19? Otherwise, please start a new thread.
  10. I used to consider myself a hub snob when I rode Chris Kings. Then, spacing changed, I got a new bike with a crappy Specialized branded hub, and I've been riding it for years now. So, I'm basically like a "wine snob" that drinks Franzia when nobody's looking.
  11. Yeah. Rigodamndiculus. My aunts who live in Houston literally drove to a crowded parking lot to get the best view of the flyover. Yes, a CROWDED parking lot.
  12. How has this one not made it here yet?
  13. Too bad those chemtrails they leave aren't clouds of disinfectant.
  14. You need to update your Zoom to v5.0.
  15. Anybody watching the Jordan documentary "The Last Dance" on ESPN? I spent my middle and high school years during the 90's Bulls era. Watching these series recaps has been crazy nostalgic for me even not being a big MJ fan. I get flashbacks of watching these games at friends houses that I have long forgotten.
  16. Ha! I'm probably not. I do want to get up there one day. There is a ton of new stuff at Brushy since last time I've been there. Don't hold them for me if someone else wants them, though.
  17. I'd take them all from you, but I don't see myself getting up to your neck of the woods anytime soon.
  18. I've been riding a 27.5+ Stumpjumper for I'd say about 3 years now. I love this bike in a way I've never loved a bike before. Honestly, it has changed the way I look at bikes. At this point of any previous bike relationships, I'd be lusting for something new by now. If I could find a deal on a shiny garage queen in the exact same model, I'd seriously consider it. When the mid-fat first hit the scene, I could have sworn they were going to overtake the market. I think a few things got in the way. They somehow immediately got a "this would be great for a benninger" talking point around them. As if, somehow, only beginners can benefit from suppleness and incredible traction. They are heavy. No getting around that. I feel like there is an upper weight and/or aggressiveness limit where you have to choose between optimal tire pressure and smashing your wheels. I run a hair under 15psi. Much more than that feels like I'm riding an over inflated basketball. Any less and the rim strikes come quick. I don't run CrushCore or anything mainly because I cringe at the thought of putting more rotational weight in there, but it could be key to anyone who is on this bubble. They do feel different. Sort of like you are numbing the trail feedback or turning down the volume.
  19. I'd love at least one set. Which one is narrower?
  20. Hmm, this brings up an interesting question. Is "BS" one word? Technically, it is 2 letters, yet the long form of this abbreviation can be written acceptably as just 1 word.
  21. On the bright side, I can't hear you sing.
  22. I've got some ribs about to hit the smoker and another batch of jerky queued up for tomorrow. Currently eating a sandwich on some of the wife's homemade bread. So on the bright side, we're staying fed.
  23. Can you blame him? It’s really hard to grow grass in an office.
