  1. I've seen multiple good reports at this point.
  2. I've been out of town so I'm not the best judge today. And it has been misting a little. But at least 1 Facebook report was that conditions this morning were good.
  3. Why not just get a nice tailgate pad? https://www.bestreviews.guide/tailgate-bike-pad?origin=google&google_params
  4. I don't see anything on heatmaps for it. Satellite shows a few roads.
  5. Unrelated to your comment... damn there is a LOT of green space in the Little Bear Creek Management Unit through which the VCT will eventually run.
  6. It looks like the VCT will be pretty destructive when it plows through, likely overtaking Chip Chop and Terminus. Luckily someone has made sure we already have a dozen redundant routes through there! But yeah, as an example of what's going on with East Austin, take a look at the heatmaps for San Antonio's Leon Creek Greenbelt. Everywhere paved paths go, singletrack branches.
  7. Aaaaaaand it's gone. Anyway, looked too small for a modern mountain bike.
  8. Hahahahaha...Hahaha...aha.... ha. Ha.. uhhuagh!..uhhuah...Ha...Ha...Ha... ...ha... I was about to comment on these trails earlier today, but realized I might be stepping on someone's unmentionables.
  9. I got my site 12 again! I'm expecting some buddies to join, including @CBaron.
  10. If it's at Dana Peak, I'll grab a big site again that'll accommodate us and you. ...you know...just in case.
  11. Maybe enough tent camping. We did have a few RVs last time though. I think they only have 2 hookup sites. But I'm not sure about that either.
  12. If you're trying to drum up interest...you probably have a bigger audience every Tuesday at 6 than you do on this forum. I'm into it, though.
  13. Thanks for the offer, @AntonioGG! Every time we rent one, Jessica suggests we buy them anyway. She reckons that if we have the boxes, we'll fly to bike more often. I always talked her down, since BSS was so cheap. But now that there's no good local solution, I suppose it was time to jump in anyway.
  14. I just got the Evoc Pro off Amazon. I went the buy one and borrow one from a buddy route.
  15. Keeping it within 1-2 hours, other potential locations include Flat Rock Ranch and Reveille Peak Ranch (would probably have to do 1 day at RPR and 1 day at Spider though). Although I'm not sure either has the camping capacity that Dana Peak has. While Madrone, Pace Bend, Muleshoe, RHR and Bluff Creek all have camping, and most have showers, they're are all too short to make for 2 days of riding IMO. Goodwater has plenty of riding and camping, but you're either doing a loop or an out-and back, so not a lot of fun variation.
  16. I have considered the shipping option, but I'm not a fellow who appreciates being without my bike for a few days on each side. And yeah, in the past I've had TSA rummage though my bike box and leave their calling card--no damage luckily. That's probably why the Evoc bags are calling my name with their dedicated wheel compartments.
  17. aka THANKS TREK! Who is renting out good bike boxes these days? I didn't see anything on Peddler's, Velorangutan nor Cycle Progression's site. BSS used to rent great and modern bike boxes for $10 a day. Easy-peasy. Trek offers no such thing...but they'll give me a couple of cardboard boxes...no thanks. I have those. Luckily MJs has plenty of bike boxes for $10 a day! It's those old Thule hard cases, so it'll work great for your road bike, or your 2000's geo 26er mountain bike. I remember my 2006 Giant Reign barely fitting in it, so there's no way a modern bike will fit. We need 2 and our next Vegas trip departs in 13 days, so the clock is ticking. Worst case scenario I can go the cardboard route. But I do have a generous buddy with a nice Evoc box. So if I buy a new box, I only need to buy one for now.
  18. Any plans to do this again this year?
  19. I’m sure this is optimistic…but I’ve been hoping Omicron is the cure for Covid. Super contagious and pretty mild. Herd immunity incoming?
  20. In any event, it seems all things port are either necessary or possibly fortified.
