The upcoming forecast sucks!

The cat mountain trails have been built and maintained by free ride 512 and i think they want you to be a member (I think it’s in the realm of $50 a year) to ride out there to cover their insurance. Agreed. Part of being successful in life is getting as much info as you can to make an informed decision. Which is what I was fishing for here.

Yeah, I picked up a small tube at BSS on Parmer about a year ago for I think around $7.

Are any of you guys that have dug multiple times at spider mountain concerned about all the rain leading up to the race? Do you think it will be like RPR where you still get good grip on wet trails? My concern is: 1) I haven’t been riding very much do to all the rain, and 2) the day I dug out there we seemed to be pick ax’ing through a lot of lime stone that maybe very slick if wet during the race. Those two combined with Me having a tendency to ride a little above my pay grade on race days have me worried that it could be very dangerous! I’ve been excited about this race since the announcement on the Fourth of July, and love doing Trail Party events! Any opinions or advice?

No large ruts noted and all the berms were dialed! I’d be lying if I told you I knew which ones were the newest ones, being that I ride peddlers infrequently due to riding west to east and normally running out of time before I get there!

Rode snail, rim,picnic,peddlers, mulligan, and 1/4 notch this morning and they all were DD’s! Get out and get some before the rain starts again tomorrow! P.S. bailed before Double Down because I’m fat and out of shape, but I’m sure it was DD’s too.

I was going to ask if anyone thought by Wednesday day it would be rideable if we get no more rain, but it just started poring at my house so likely the trail is getting it too! This monsoon has no end!

Deception when wet sounds like a recipe for broken bones!

Went and rode the regional trail with my 1 yr old in the bike trailer this evening and to no surprise saw ruts in the visible sections of picnic, 3 people with off leash dogs and one older man (late 60’s or early 70’s) on a mtb bike covered in mud who looked like he may have just come off peddlers pass! I wanted to (and should have) said something, but didn’t! Just not one for confrontation with one of my kids around and the guys age threw me off. He seemed to be well kitted and should have known better.

I will vouch for Palo Duro (unfortunately lived in Amarillo for 3yrs of my life I will never get back). It’s definitely scenic terrain but if you’re only going to make one trip there in your life time, go in the spring when the wildflowers are blooming. It’s amazing!

Sorry bout the rain guys! Got new bars, stem and brakes! Itching to ride and of course we have two weeks of just enough rain to make the trails off limits! On a positive note if spider mountain is getting any of this rain, those trails should be dialed for the race!

I just think everything is growing and needs a little trimming! I took my helmet off my head pre hopping into the ditch by the regional trail the other day! I’ve done that hundreds of times and never had a problem.

I’ll be there for the race! I may be walking parts of that black trail though depending on what it looks like in it’s finished product! I helped dig parts of it and walking down parts were a challenge!

Who trek fuel went missing last night?
