  1. I just did a front and back and they both feel great. It was a pita though, mostly because I don't see so well.
  2. Seems to be a common problem with all of the Guide brakes. Plastic plunger inside the lever swells slightly/enough with a little heat to cause it to hang up inside the master cyl. The amount of heat it takes to make this happen is so small the brakes worked great indoors in the ac and after sitting outside for 20 minutes felt like absolute shit. Did a little research before I started chasing my tail trying to find the cause of this and found several youtube vids explaining the fix for this problem/defect.

    this shit moved me
  4. I'm going to harvest the hubs, put on a coaster brake steel wheel set and move it on down the line.
  5. All of my favorite bikes have been steel bikes. I used have 2 Gunnar Rock Hounds, 1 with vbrakes I had set up as a rigid ss and the other was a disc brake geared version. Every bmx bike I've ever owned has been chromoly. My steel Serotta road bike rides like a dream. Steel is real.
  6. I thought I was done fishing for klunker parts and then I ran across this thing yesterday. 1959 Schwinn Town and Country tandem
  7. 17" seat tube 21" top tube, XTR/XT shifting bits and drive train, Mavic 517s laced on LX hubs, Manitou fork, all new cables and housing, new lock-on grips, and new Specialized Body Geometry saddle. Can change pedals to Shimano SPDs if needed.Small brake lever ding in top tube. Bike is tuned and ready to ride. $550
  8. I find my hip pack to be superior when carving the gnar on my 1 wheel as it adds to my already sufficient low center of gravity.

    True story there.
  10. Just started sprinkling here, looking like I'm out.
  11. I love when I'm riding my road bike and every roadie I encounter is all smiles and waves and when I'm on my bmx bike I'm completely invisible.
  12. I just saw Dawn's post, still innage w/ ribbage.
  13. Darn kids these days are making it tough for an old man to look cool with tired wheelies and tabletops.
  14. Ribs are going on the smoker around 11ish.
  15. I've toyed around with the idea of putting a Spinlister fleet together but I barely have room for my storage needs now. I also can't wrap my head around dropping off and picking up. If I lived more central or closer to the touristy parts of town it would be worth a try.
  16. I'm in the process of gathering parts for this.
  17. It was at 24hr mud race, ran out of syn lube, but thanks for the tip.
