  1. Come and listen to my story about a cat named Seth A poor mountain biker, almost sold his bike for meth, And then one day he was shootin down a trail, And up through the brush appeared a wooden tail A whale tail that is, wooden kicker, texas gnar Well the next thing you know seths the trail steward The mountain bikers said "Seth build some trail downward" Said "the fall lines are where the trails ought to be" So they loaded up the tools and built the pussy
  2. I rode for an hour and a half yesterday and didnt notice anything, except that Im very out of shape and sucked wind. Maybe it was due to the dust..
  3. I have this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C3849GG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  4. Having to get wheels tensioned/trued every few months sounds really annoying. I have chinese carbon that I havent had to true in several years of riding. I had one set of aluminum wheels that I did have to tighten spokes periodically, but not as often as every few months (though I barely used them).
  5. Ill take the 29er tires. PM me an address and Ill pickup tomorrow
  6. I feel like this is the opposite, but Im not cornering expert. I usually want more weight on the front as I go through the corner
  7. Im sure you already do this, but just in case, do you have all your weight on the outside pedal leaning the bike and not yourself?
  8. would love nobby nics, are you not going to use them?
  9. the one with the feature names is helpful. I used to ride "the cradle" with no problem, but have been getting stuck lately. Has erosion made it harder? I might just not have enough speed.
  10. where are you mostly riding? If you have your seat up at optimal height for pedaling, it def isnt at a good height for descending. Without a dropper I keep my seat in a middle position, not perfect for pedaling, but also not perfect for descending. Lots of trails dont need a dropper as you arent going to hammer out miles at a high cadence and arent dropping steeps drops.
  11. does anyone have 29er tires? Will pretty much take anything in good condition.
  12. one thing they didnt mention is you crouch down then push forward on the bars vs just rolling off the edge. This means you dont need as much speed.
  13. what was the total? My upstairs AC is failing (8 years old) and precision heating and air quoted 3300 for evap coils and 10-12K to replace the whole system. I laughed him out the door, but now need to get a company that isnt a total ripoff to come fix it. Evap coils should be about 1200, and a whole medium seer system should be about 6K I learned that my AC units had a standard 5 year warranty, but if you register them, then you get 10 years. The prior owner didnt register them so im SOL. Good thing I already bought my new bike before the AC went out.
  14. just bragging a bit, but my daughter can read that..
  15. If I was filming that I would have run into the back of a parked car...
  16. My 7 yo started pedaling right at 2. My oldest (12) was pedaling at 4 with a lot of yelling by me. My youngest is 4 and taught herself about 2 weeks ago. I saw a strava post about 3 weeks ago where my friend took his 8 yo daughter on log loops so I took my son to walnut, rode point 6, and he loved it. Since then we have done outer log as well. We have been riding about once a week, though he would like to ride more. With the 7 year on endo video Im pretty much going to have to force him to do it LOL We did suburban ninja this weekend and it was great for mileage. So far it is my favorite trail for the kids and christ church will have really nice features if he gets good enough. I think woom has geared bikes that will fit a 7 YO. I built my sons bike for my oldest on a specialized hotrock base.
  17. took my kids on suburban ninja this morning, ended up at christ church. Suburban ninja is great for kids. Lots of fun things for them to ride. Very few people compared to peddlers which is a zoo. Was able to do about 7 miles which was great.
  18. the new method does not have the parent pushing the kid. You take the pedals off and they use it like a balance bike. They can get their balance in as soon as a day if you have a small hill they can coast down. Once they are coasting down the hill and can make turns, put the pedals back on and you are done. You can leave the pedals on, but they get in the way of the kid pushing the bike with their feet on flat ground.
  19. dont need to take the chain/ crank off. Just the pedals.
  20. picked up the cranks Austinbike, thanks!
  21. dont use training wheels. Take the pedals off and slam the seat. Have him coast down slight inclines until he has his balance (probably 1 day at his age). Put the pedals back on and have him start coasting, then pedaling. My 4yo learned over 4 days last month. All 3 of my kids have used this method.
