  1. You may have. I know my wife collected about 3 or 4 different angles of the incident at different points along the way from people. 🙂 She reminds me occasionally to be careful, but have fun.
  2. Pretty much the only ARR ride I have been on outside of a random R&I appearance... At least if you are going to eat it, make sure there is plenty of audience and subsequent evidence.
  3. I will also follow up with a link to AustinBike's website. http://www.austinbike.com/index.php/austin/11-thumper the whole thing does seem off-camber....
  4. The 2 sections of Double Down are what I end up riding most on my evening rides when I only have a short amount of time to be out. They are closest to my house as I approach from the west, but are also the trail sections I like the most. Just personal preference, but then again, I also 'like' Thumper, not that I am any good at riding it or have been In a while. Just must be a case of self torture tendencies. 🙂
  5. Really like the looks and specs of the Capra, but know that I would never be able to use all of it... 🙂
  6. I guess not all new bikes cause rain!
  7. Narrow strip of trail How is this all off camber? A Place you love and hate Up, down, bend around Rats nest of trails are deceiving A tower signals the reprieve
  8. 26” single speed rear. Old 7 so freewheel hub dished to run on middle chainring of mid 90’s GT.
  9. 29 100/ 135 redline single speed wheel set. QR. wysiwyg. Never setup tubeless.
  10. looks like the for sale bike has upgraded V-Brakes and Fork...
  11. The pie in the sky plan is to have trail from Cedar Park to Hutto... http://www.rviplanning.com/projects/brushy-creek-regional-trail-development-v/
  12. Looks like that is part of the BCRT that runs through Round Rock, just South of HWY 79 between Georgetown Street and AW Grimes along the Creek. Hopefully they can get property owners to agree for connection from where it currently stops on Harry Man road down to Memorial Park near I35. Not holding my breath though.... EDIT: I was incorrect. Looks like this is a portion of the trail that would go from 620 Near Round Rock HS along the creek towards Harry Man Road.
  13. Ventilation looks much better than the 2005 version that I have. Cannot recommend them enough as I tested it many times off-road MC racing, and never had any issues.
  14. John Tomac would love it... 😉
  15. I carry my cell phone, ID, and a post it note with emergency contact info all in one zip-lock any time I ride. Just haven't invested in anything beyond that...
  16. I am unsure of the exact ones you are talking about, but I know my great grand-father built some dry-stacked limestone fieldstone fences. Unsure if the old homestead footings are still there, or if that site is in the parkland area, but they were stacked limestone also.
  17. How did the meeting go? I will definitely need to get there to check out the trails on the property. In my childhood we dove hunted this exact location near the pond created by the COE dam every chance we had. Of course this was long before the housing developments and the property was in the family. The retention area during a flood is rather large from the dam, but has porous limestone beneath that drains into the aquifer quickly.
  18. Cody and Barry passed in front of my office on Jollyville as I was heading home. So wished I had my bike to try and keep up, but know I would be dropped like a rock! All about goals and stepped progression. Looks like ya'll had a good ride with a decent group.
  19. I was at Thumper 2 Saturdays ago now and it could definitely use more wheels at that time. Really miss having the time and fitness to do the old Thursday Thumper rides.
  20. RA, having raced off-road dirt bikes for years, I notice the new CoG in the frame, but I actually like it better. I tend to ride off the seat, so my weight is transferred to pedals below the water weight. If you are a sit-down type rider, it will make more of a noticeable change. Really not a whole lot different than when I would ride with 2 large water-bottles in cages. New frame will only take 1 full size and 1 shorter, So I went a different root, and added extra storage for items out of the camel back.
  21. June Bug, it is just the regular Mag-Tank. Wanted to make sure I had room for my IPhone and snacks inside, but not be too large.
  22. Testing new setup to ditch the camelback.. Much nicer in the heat.
  23. Bike has been sold. Albert, please feel free to remove topic.
  24. Frame has been spoken for, and is gone. Thanks!
  25. CJB, very familiar with route from Thumper to Cedar Park. I used this route for years and cross any major roadway at stop lights. Most of my route is west of 183 through Neighborhoods. It is very easy to get to the YMCA and enter the far west end of DD.
