  1. I have worked with a few properties that have them in Westlake Hills. The city makes you keep a wide swath around them.
  2. Short Treated 2x10’s from deck project for donation to trails. Located in Cedar Park. Also have a lot of nontreated 2x4’s that could be used for trails or other projects. These are culls from house and then shed so they are bowed and cupped etc. they are fine if you only need short pieces. Free to pickup.
  3. This is similar to the issue that I ran into with my MonoCog Flight that I owned. The frame deformed on the disk brake side in the carrier area that holds the slider allowing it to have vertical twisting play. I sure this was due to to many rock ledge drops with the rear brake applied, got to love CTX riding. This was allowing the brake side to move fore, aft, and slightly vertically no matter how tight the bolts were. Would have required cutting the frame and adding back in a new carrier portion on the rear triangle. My issue was due to metal fatigue from repeated bashing.... Was hoping my old post had a detailed picture of the deformed slider portion of the frame, but it does not.
  4. We used to only have to worry about getting a pant leg caught in the chain... Now you can get your baggy shorts caught or ??? in an idler wheel.... 🙂
  5. Bob Ross, Rim, and the other new connector where good last night except water running at the top where you drop in from the double track at the end of double down. New connector had water only in the armored bottom area. Kudos to the builders who made this section, it flies from west to east. Much fun! did not even look at Dave's....
  6. Cody, I went to an Airrosti Therapist in Cedar Park after I ruined my lower back prior to the EB in 2012. It looks like that location is not longer there or has moved to the new location on the website and I do not remember the name of the person I saw. My issues were cause by overly tight (shortened) leg and hip muscles which pulled the pelvis out of alignment. I still use the foam roller, and handball pressure point release techniques to this day. I have also found that much of the current lower back aches I have now is from a sedentary job, inactive glues, and poor core strength. I would recommend looking into it, and if someone can give you a current good reference on a location and therapist I would take the chance. -Damon
  7. I know these guys mainly do custom jeep part fabrication, but might not hurt to reach out and ask. Burnt Customs: Custom Offroad Parts
  8. My thought is that it would feel like these old 'pinned' cranksets with loose pins so that the arms flop around not aligned...
  9. I have had my Izzo since August, but have only been able to ride it maybe 20 times. To me it is a really fun bike, splitting the difference between my previoulsy owned Specialized Enduro and my Niner Sir Nine rigid ss. Light and maneuverable, but doesn't get too twitchy on loose descents at BCRT which is my main riding area. One of the things I lost with the enduro was snappy acceleration, to which the Izzo almost feels similar to a hardtail. Only real thing I have had to adjust is the rear lockout for the shock. Will be looking into frame protection for the Bottom Bracket area, as I know I will smack that on a rock at some point trying to ride up some of your local ledges. Bike was a blast on the flowy southie trails and other hilly areas. I am not a guru of bikes geometry or writeups, but like to just get out and ride when I have time.
  10. I have 50 to 60 12” square concrete landscape pavers. Reddish in color. Could be used for trail armoring or your patio project. Located in Cedar Park.
  11. Just hit the 'Paper'.. Hill and Laura Abell, longtime owners of Bicycle Sport Shop, are selling to Trek (statesman.com)
  12. Participation Trophy parent at work.... Undermines an underling 'hard work ethic' as anything that is deemed 'too hard' must be dumbed down 'for me' by someone else.... SMH.
  13. The Trail Kiosk Attendant was on duty at the West End of Double Down after hours the other night.
  14. Unfortunately, this time in Lajitas was without the bike.... 😞
  15. Lots of new places that show up in this thread that I need to get out and ride. Need to go explore more. Need to at least string a Brushy, Behrens, WilCo ride together.
  16. I love the ad-hoc concept of the design, but the 'want to be' mechanical engineer in me is worried about the torsional stresses now on the swingarm and its bearings.....
  17. MissingPistons, I do have a large Izzo that you are welcome to look at if you would like. Not exactly what you are asking for, but the offer is there. I am around 5'-10" and hit right in the middle of the Large so that is what I went with. Not sure who else on the forum might have an Izzo.
  18. On my geared bike, this is where I tend to ride on trails. Right in the middle of the Cassette. X01 Eagle 1295 with 32 front chainwheel. With where I ride, I do not find the need to drop to shorter gears than the 42. Other 2 bikes are Single 28x17 and Dingle 32x20 and 34x18.
  19. So many things in these last 5 or 6 comments hit way too close to home. I am knocking on the door of 50, which is just a few months away. My core and glutes are an issue but getting better, but my back issues are caused by overly tight hamstrings and quads which pull the pelvis out of alignment with lower spine and strain the muscles in my lower back. I have been fighting this issue since EB 2012 when I was training on a geared bike, although I had completed in 2010 on an SS. Just have to make myself not be a lazy bastard on the Izzo and ride it like my other bikes, which are full rigid Niner and Stache HT single speeds.
  20. Pulled the trigger and got an Izzo Pro Race a month ago. Unfortunately, only have a half dozen rides in it and most of those have been tinkering with suspension setup and only riding at Brushy. From my initial feelings though, this will be a obnoxiously fun bike for most of what I ride.
  21. Was probably also in the wrong gear....
  22. I still look relatively calm at that moment... 🕵️‍♂️
