  1. I've got a bunch of L&M batteries and am looking for a new head unit, 500lm or better. My Seca 1500 is great on my head, but I'd love a second light for on the bar. So if you have some old L&M stuff laying around, I'm looking to buy.
  2. I've got some of the older carbon rims from DT. So far they are holding up well, but I am not looking forward to when they eventually do crack. I am the third owner, so no chance for any kind of discounted replacement. Until then, XC and rimpacts.
  3. Looks like a bunch of unwanted attention to me.
  4. I get so tired of those same ads over and over. I know you can sort of hide them, but that typically only works for a short time. I guess I understand, somebody may one day stumble on to CL looking for something really specific. But come on. every day refresh of your parts bin trash...
  5. I don't remember my tires, but probably a slightly faster rolling WTB tire. But yeah. Geared for trails, not the 40+ miles of asphalt
  6. Yeah, it was really strange. We have to meters, two transformers, two service panels. Pole A - Cabin/well house - the well house breaker was manually OFF, but it still fried a capacitor in the well control system. Flipped the cabin main breaker, flipped a couple individual breakers in the subpanel, fried the main board in the Fiber internet box (outside), fried the router. Did something to the fridge control panel, which took resetting twice to get the fridge back on (but I don't trust it anymore). Pole B - Barndo - most breakers manually off - no impact to the sub panel in the barndo, but one breaker flipped to landscape lights. Transformer and pole fuse/breaker fried. Most concerning is that the well house breaker was manually off (as it always is when we leave the property) and yet, we got an arc in the panel that fried a capacitor (assumed, could just be coincidence). I manually flip a lot of breakers off when we leave, as we just don't need them on. Not happy to see that might not also protect them from surge.
  7. Our ranch in Canyon Lake had a lightning strike last week, lost power but also lost a few devices (router, well pump controller). Anyone here have a whole house surge protector they like? Looking for something I can install in the service panel on the pole vs in the house at the subpanel. Also, any thoughts on lightning protection on a metal building?
  8. Also hilarious that he claims to have paid $350 to have a POS 26" fork serviced. I can't imagine even BSS would do that to someone.
  9. Somebody on Nextdoor gave me three Chamberlain belt drive units. Only need two. Couple years old. Want one? Also, just upgraded my wheels to nylon rollers, that helped our belt system to be even quieter.
  10. Sounds like some kid is getting downgraded to an $80 Specialized.
  11. I did one about 8 years ago. Bought the hardware kit for a few hundred dollars, which included the plans and cut sheet. I spent a few hours making all the cuts and then assembled everything in a few more hours. We did stain grade plywood, then the wife decided she wanted to paint it. I ended up then doing bookshelves on the sides (another full weekend). It was in a small room and really helped. Basically the kid crib and play room, but when guests came it was the guest room.
  12. We didn't pay anywhere near that. we did have to pay them to paint too, but still came out pretty cheap.
  13. It's all a scam. Ignore the current crazy up cycle. But in any normal year the CAD equation is a circular one built on a handful of data points that they attempt to make fit the larger dataset. But it end ups a circular argument because they tell me my house is based on the value of the neighbor, and they tell my neighbor that his house is based on the value of his neighbor (me). Self fulfilling valuation. I basically gave up on fighting CAD. the guy next door with a bigger house, a little newer, 3 car garage (vs 2), and not on the corner (not much sf diff), was valued 15% lower than me. all of that in the improvement (all our lots are the same dirt value). Makes zero sense. And when I pointed it out they ignored it and told me I was in line with other neighbors. My tax scheme is to lock a house into its valuation when transacted. Maybe set a 2% inflation COL adjustment to it, but otherwise no revaluation without remodel or transaction. The city/ISD will have to find revenue someplace else, but it makes the whole buying a house something more available to people when they can more reasonably anticipate tax obligations.
  14. Our 1920's place in Houston had an ironing board setup like that in the kitchen. Striped it, added shelves and it was a fantastic spice rack.
  15. Rode 2.5 hours yesterday and the two bottles were great. The minimal storage was a bit of a problem, so will look for ways to store my little pump and battery for my helmet light.
  16. That is a good deal. Hard to find disc tabs. Harder to find prebuilt disc wheels, though there are some off Aliexpress that others have had luck with.
  17. The boy child wants to ride after school today. Looking for anything that could be open. He doesn't like the hard rocky downhill stuff, so CP, Thumper, Deception, etc are out. I'm in the 2222/360 area and know all the stuff locally, if anyone has feedback on those trails - DM me. Really just need someplace we can do loops/laps for an hour of spinning.
  18. https://www.amazon.com/ABI-Enduro-MAX-cart-bearing-17x26x5/dp/B001GSSIAY/ref=asc_df_B001GSSIAY/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=507843651034&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8967080464812848580&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9028297&hvtargid=pla-1225032383718&psc=1 Amazon has them for delivery tomorrow.
  19. My OLD HF pancake was listed as 125psi and could seat anything. My new one is listed as 100PSI (and I cannot get it above 85psi) and it cannot seat some MTB tires. So it just comes down to what you end up with. I think if it really could put out 100psi, it might be fine. I wonder if you could return an HF compressor if it didn't get to advertised pressure. Too late for me, but might be one way to go.
  20. If you wanted a cheap beater and there was no concern over ever dropping the post, a little JB weld and maybe a couple of bolts drilled through the ST/post, you could make it a perm height post and just run it. If.
  21. Sadly, I cannot fit a bottle in my frame so the single bottle Dakine is going on the shelf for the summer. This ghetto two bottle hiking thing will have to work..
  22. I know the last section drains poorly, in the past when I rode it wet I would just take the last section of fence line up to the driveway, rather than that trail segment that dove back into the core of the MTB area. It seemed like that was the best way to avoid the sections of trail actually in dirt and not on rock. I'll probably just hit the road instead, get a solid spin in instead.
  23. It used to be that City Park could be ridden even in the rain. But now I hear a lot less people talking about it as a wet weather option. I was out there in December, first time in 10 years, and it seemed still all the same. So what say the collective, an option for this weekend?
  24. Anyone have a lefty truing adapter I can borrow? I loaned one out a couple years ago and it never came home.
  25. So watching more videos on how much power you need, I may hobble something together for her to try it, but I suspect this 500W setup isn't going to be enough. my SIL is a bit overweight, lives off Far West and would want to get down to Anderson and Burnet, so up and down the far west pedestrian bridge. A bit of a hill and maybe too much for 500W pedal assist. In that case the 500W wheel goes to me. So I maybe on the look out for a beater 26" frame (or better a Stinky or similar). Something to hoon at the ranch.
