Tree Magnet
Syd Barrett is my cautionary “don’t do drugs” example for my kids. I saw a Pink Floyd documentary where they talked about him and it was brutal. So much potential that was never realized. First time I saw her, she was in a drab house dress and sandals performing in the backyard. She can damn sure play the guitar though no matter what she looks like.
throet
Thinking back to my years growing up in a divided Detroit in the sixties, harmony came only through the sweet sound of Motown. Ironic and sad how I was exposed to my own paternal family's prejudices while they gleefully played records from artists like Diana Ross and the Supremes on one of these contraptions in our cramped living quarters. Fortunately for me, my German immigrant mother contrasted that hate with love for everybody and everything, as she herself had lived through the horror of Hitler's reign, allied bombing attacks, and post-WWII apocalypse before finally departing for New York on warship turned transport ship USS General Muir in 1951. TheX
My dad was the TV/Stereo repair guy in the '60s. He worked for Magnavox. We had a lot of those consoles over the years.
