  1. Disclosure - I don't own this house or know the people that do. I just saw the "coming soon" sign out front when I was walking back from the WC trail work day today. This place backs up into Walnut Creek near the fire road access to the top of Powerline. Some of the houses along this stretch have gates out the back yard to go straight into the park. I'm just posting here for any interested person that likes to ride and might be considering a place in this area. It'd be cool to have more mountain bikers in the neighborhood. Google Maps

  2. I have biked all over the world and relied on the kindness of strangers. Imagine being in Seoul or Singapore or London and having someone show up with a bike for you and take you to the trails. You really need to pay that karma back. And check out Brushy while you are here. I don't know those as well, I'd be a crappy tour guide.

  3. On Deception now. Trails is rideable with minimal dirt pickup on tires but damn these rocks are slick. I’d probably hold off on riding until the sun can evaporate this mornings condensation.

  4. I'd go. Been there a couple times. Nothing too technical just some rock garden areas as I recall.

  5. It addresses many of the questions I see/hear - https://crankjoy.com/mountain-bike-etiquette-we-are-not-entitled/?fbclid=IwAR0xSWt8hLZUrqHFDUx5x2QqzdeEPJ9BjRWRWBubjRdMAQ66IrismwCRSHs And no I did not write it. Or have any input on it.

  6. @AustinBike You're a man amongst riders, I absolutely will take you up on it. Thanks to all you guys, Looks like I will have all the riding I need and more. I want to Hit BCGB with AustinBike, Brushy, RPR and Emma Long. Any other time maybe canyonlands and/or Pace Bend. Georgetown Lake Circumnavigation looks like too much to ask for an afternoon. Ill post when im hitting stuff, and anyone who wants to come and beat me up is welcome.

  7. Rain gauge shows a tad but right now everything appears wet and my front yard is soft. I’m going to head out now and see how the trails look.

  10. As much as I'd like to go, I'm going to be sticking to trails closer to home for a while until I fully recover from my injury. I'm pretty much riding all the same stuff now, but nowhere near the level I was riding pre-injury. Also my ass starts hurting after about an hour-and-a-half. Rode yesterday and today and feel like I may need a break tomorrow. Definitely want to get out there though before the summer heat rolls in; so keep me in mind for a future ride there. Maybe I can drag @Chief out there with me.

  11. One of the nice things about cooler weather is being able to take the dog to work with me. She is an awesome little companion.

  12. After a quick 5 miler around the neighborhood with the kids, I can hardly say I “earned” this one, but at 11%, I probably won’t care for much longer.

  13. Rim Shot, Bowling for Glory, Tommy's Tribute Trail, and Four Ledges are the downhill runs in the Meridian Bowl. Ski Lift is the jeep road that you ride up to access them. One of the Bowie mountain bike team members said he did 16 runs during their practice there a couple of weeks ago. Impressive. School Daze runs from the end of the 45 stuff, at 1826, down to the Meridian bowl. Avana Escape is the name of the complete run of the four named sections (separated by streets or sidewalk that have to be crossed) along Escarpment.

  14. YW. The most recent ride with did with Crank and Drank took the group thru some of the Meridian section. The four trails in the'bowl' are Rim Shot, Sky Lift, Four Ledges and the latest is Tommy's Tribute Trail. Other trails of note in that area is School Days (Daze? I can't remember) and then there are four new-ish sections along Escarpment that start right at where Escarpment ends/begins. There is some construction in the area which has forced some recent changes and there are some other trails that go around Bear Lake, too.
