  1. There is 1 storm cell hitting the area right now as I gear up for a morning ride. I suspect any of the dirt trails will eat this up quickly because it’s been so dry, but the rocky trails (1/4 and DD) will be a bit slick this morning. ETA: okay this is a huge fucking cell and it is dumping. I am pissed Mother Nature is going to make me have a roadie type ride.
  2. Just wait until my 15-20 miles morning rides from my garage go from brushy creek to Waterton Canyon! From almost running over fluffy cotton tail rabbits, to running away from big horn sheep!
  3. I work for a pretty large (17,000) global technology company. We’ve seen a surge in productivity with us across the board through all of this, so we actually closed more than half of our offices globally and most of us who are not client facing will be forced to go remote. Packing my shit next month and moving to the mountains!
  4. No matter what side of the fence you’re on and who you’re personally blaming for the bulk of these countless issues, we are a complete fucking train wreck right now. I am looking forward to exercising my right at the polls in November.
  5. Got a new home in 80127 starting July 29th. Tried to go to as far south west Denver as possible without completely leaving the city just yet. My next move will be to a much more remote location on a much larger piece of land, but I’m still relatively young so I have time. I chose this area for a lot of reasons, but some of it has to do with the ability to get on any type of bicycle from home and just ride away. This is something I have been very fortunate to have right now being 1.8 miles from the Twin Lakes YMCA. Now, anyone have any recommendations out there? There is so much online that it’s a bit overwhelming. I don’t even know where go start, so I plan to ask around and build my backlog accordingly. Pretty much anything on the western side of Denver is fine, as far north as boulder and as far west as the big mountains. I’ll hit it all eventually, just want to start somewhere.
  6. PNW or OneUp from my recent research. I did have a fox transfer on my previous bike and it worked flawlessly, but they’re a premium priced product. I’m currently waiting for a 31.6 180mm OneUp to come back in stock.
  7. Took a vacation day to head down to canyon lake tomorrow. Looking forward to madrone trail Saturday.
  8. I juiced it at 6:15 this morning for a pre work spin. Weather was as good as it gets.
  9. Great spot Los Reyes is. Right up the road off of Whitestone is our favorite, Blue Corn Harvest. We went last night to celebrate. Limited capacity and a trimmed down temporary menu, but still great. Recommend a stop in, especially during happy hour times (all the way until 7p).
  10. Sounds to me like you and your wife are doing what most are doing voluntarily, and that’s great to hear. IMO the majority of the divide on this particular topic isn’t about mask wearing at all, it’s about ones right to do what they think is right for them and the precedent the government can set with a bit of overreach. I personally support anyone’s right to wear or not to wear a mask. I also support businesses working if they feel they can, and I support small government making their own decisions, as what is right for Glasscock county may not be the same for Travis county. That’s what this divide is about.
  11. Wait, you’re telling me that my penis can’t get COVID-19?? Uh oh
  12. Same can be said for Brushy. This morning I rode to red horn for an 8am coffee and on my way back through the place was crawling with people walking 4-5 wide paying zero attention to anyone else out there.
  13. That’s the one I have and it works great. Just pay attention to instructions. Always store it at 2nm.
  14. Good morning to get out to spider. Place got a bit crowded when I left just before 11am.
  15. If someone says that’s spam we will boo that man. Awesome info and I look forward to using your website.
  16. Seems like you’ve got week days available. Since that’s the case, bull creek just north of the 2222 and 360 intersection on weekdays is great. Second rec is Jones Brothers Park. Yes, it will be a 20-30min drive up to Jonestown, but it’s a free park on the far north end of Lake Travis that you can back your vehicle up to the water and hang. On weekdays it is empty and great. You’ll see some boat traffic right from the boat landing in the park, but you can get hundreds of yards away from that and have some privacy. I’ve brought the grill and the dogs out there to swim and cook. It worth a good weekday afternoon for sure.
  17. Damn this is awesome! Is this website your full time job?
  18. Anyone here have experience with the 3 piece Truvativ powerspline crank/bb setup? My bikes biggest issues is this, and I want to change it. I just want to make sure I buy the right parts and have the proper tools to pull that crank out. This is the bike: https://www.diamondback.com/mountain-bikes/hardtail-bikes/syncr-carbon This is what I’m assuming per the bikes website the proper BB: https://www.jensonusa.com/Truvativ-Powerspline-Bottom-Bracket And this is the BB I’m anticipating replacing it with (68/73mm shell): https://www.jensonusa.com/SRAM-Dub-English-Threaded-Bottom-Bracket With this crank: https://www.jensonusa.com/SRAM-GX-Eagle-Dub-Boost-148-Crankset Please tell me I’m doing this correct, and if not, what I need to do differently
  19. I hope that wasn’t you that I almost killed coming down BCB swag bail out about an hour ago. Whoever it was, I’m sorry. I was hanging on for dear life too.

    Madrone

I think this is the thread I was really looking for. @ATXZJ any recommendations for this? I’m going to be right down the road in a couple weekends and could squeeze an early morning ride in. What direction is best? Whatever info you can provide would be great.
  22. Anyone been out to Madrone recently? I’ve never been, but we’re goin to canyon lake in a couple weeks and I could get a 7am ride in before our day. Any tips for riding this one time? Best direction to go? Thanks for the help
  23. I have to admit, the new strava route builder is a huge upgrade from the previous version. The $60 for the year might be worth it for that alone.
  24. Should be understood by all here; just put the chain up.
