  1. I've done the clipless ninja jump too but I'm 100% sure I didn't look this cool doing it so luckily I have no photo. That's awesome!
  2. It's a warning that attack jellyfish are known to be in that area. I guess I can tell my friend his portable shower is worth zip and I'm leaving him for a better spot 😛
  3. At least on my older Wahoo pressing page once would get rid of the auto-pause notification and not actually change the page you are on letting you read the page you are on while stopped. YMMV.
  4. I don't think it's an RV spot but I don't really know. I'm happy to freelance to a more convenient spot once I get there with whoever has shade an any extra room. You are going to top the current offer of a portable shower which may or may not be critical depending on the lake and swimming conditions.
  5. Because of the winter storm pushing the tax deadline back I've been given the green light to do this. Talked to someone with a reserved tent spot already.
  6. Ditched my Garmin 500 for the Wahoo Element years ago when that was new. I know things have moved on in tech levels but I liked the Wahoo a lot. It uploads automatically when I am done riding and I don't have to have a Garmin account that want's to be my BFF.
  7. Yup I've ridden down that a few times to take a look and it just seems to end.
  8. That big tree on Valero and all of Koopa Troopa has been cleared. I took a different route than normal through Latta and cleaned that up. Still 5 different routes through there I never ride so who knows but the truck route and another one are done. Fire House is clear of the big stuff but I ran out of daylight and there are some face slappers and smaller issues I didn't have time for. I didn't make it to House Fire before the sun went down but I just heard that's good to go anyway.
  9. I saw that stuff on Koopa last night but my leaking tire took priority. That's on my list to get back to. Has anyone done the full 45XL or just boneyard? I know 45 flow and flow too are done. I'm not sure of anything west or south of there towards the bowl area.
  10. I'm not on Facebook either but most of the trials have been cleared. If you find something that hasn't post it here or PM me and I'll try to get to it.
  11. I used to think MMS was weak sauce. All I had seen were the main trails. That section in the back is another world and is nothing but trouble. Maybe it's the wasps, the slick rocks or surprise porcupines. That place is wild, a little bit scary and fun as heck.
  12. That whole section from DicNic to DripDrop is great. As a bonus it has a lot of shade in the summer. I was out there yesterday getting it in before the rain.
  13. I met Mrs. TacoJunkie at the Bitter End and B Side. That was a good night.
  14. Haha bowl-o-rama. Yall just blew the dust off some memories.
  15. Ouch. Not using their stuff right now thankfully but I know a few people there.
  16. No I use a double needle saddle stitch with, in this case, 3mm diamond chisels and orange Ritza tiger thread in 0.6. I was doing a Halloween theme with some thinner veg tan I dyed black for the back. In the background there's a scratch awl and it looks like my edge beveler. Once I punch the holes and cement the parts I can stitch and watch TV so I kind of like that method. I make a small card wallet just for that purpose. Like this one. Same setup as above. I made these 2 as a set for my dad's birthday, the day before Halloween, witch explains the theme.
  17. I don't know anything about rubber wallets but I use Tyvek or rip stop nylon when lining card slots on my leather wallets. Less bulk and hopefully wouldn't gum up as much down the road with something absorbent like a cotton fabric. For example all 6 of these card slots are lined w/ nylon:
  18. When I old my wife about this. I said: "That's a bike for you and almost enough money for me to buy another one!" She was not jazzed but did send me some Zillow listings later that day.
  19. I had a few tubes I would never use after switching to tubeless and away from 26". I thought to myself what would Pringles, a laid back company, do? So I cut them up. Now I have endless rubber bands! Some thin some fat. This time of year they mostly keep my helmet light on but they also keep the tools and CO2 shots in my pack together without rattling around. I've used them to shim bells and stuff like GPS mounts from sliding around. Now I keep a few in my pack as an emergency prophylactic just in case. But 2 tubes makes like a lifetime of bands. That's cool that REI takes them back. Maybe I will try that next time I go up north.
  20. I haven't seen many real world successful deployments. The one that I can think of is an insurance company using an internal blockchain for HIPPA document control. Mostly seems to be a way to secure some sweet VC money and a dangerous drinking game if you attend any FinTech conferences.
  21. White tires look dope on the right bike. Like this one 👍
  22. Dropping in at the bridge coming from TXCW yay. Cutting out trail to ride the road south to Valero boo.
  23. MIPS is a marketing brand for a patented technology. Kali for example uses something else. I 100% recommend paying for and getting the best head protection that works in your budget but don't fall into the MIPS or nothing trap. *end rant*
