I was watching this JKW video and trying to figure out how he corners. Totally different conditions to here but he does exit those turns on his rear wheel butt behind the seat. Sometimes straight into a manual. More like hes pumping the berms than the flat corner technique.

COVID-19 is just VFX confirmed. Everyone get in the airlock. I'll stay behind and press the button to eject you into space the green room. That show was great. I hope we get another season.

Can bike shops pay the bills just off service?

My people spent generations surviving harsh cold winters and a month of no sun only for my parents to decide to move to New Mexico and Texas. Now I get to deal with heat exhaustion and skin cancer. Texas from late November to early March tho ๐

I rode both days over the weekend. Didn't notice it one bit aside from the hazy views. Dust is not nearly as bad as simply riding behind someone on a dry trail.

water fountains at VCT 290 entrance
taco_junkie replied to mack_turtle's topic in Mountain Biking Discussion
Veloway fountains are on. I think they were off for a while. I don't really use them much but I was pretty hot the other day and took a chance and they worked. Bonus points for being too eager inhaling some of the water and coughing all over the place for the next 5 minutes. -
Listen we really need your buy-in to move the ball on the new TPS format. I don't care for it either but I've got every sales VP in the region and the analytics planning committee breathing down my neck. Lets close the loop on this one and I'll scratch your back next time.

I noticed that when I was putting stuff in my cart almost made the same mistake.

If you are just looking for some strange come to SATN and practice your flat cornering ๐ Just kidding. Kind of. If I was trying to get in a chunky SATN route starting at ATX I'd do something like this: https://www.trailforks.com/ridelog/planner/view/120393/ Hits most of the highlights for me at least. -
Weight over the front or back wheel all boils down to if you think you are Jeff Kendall-Weed or not. ๐ There's an old Ben Cathro video where he's coaching a guy to improve his time down a run and it has some good advice in it. Not just for cornering but that is one of the things they tackle. It's a bit long though. Here it is.

My smaller company is 100% WFH right now. Trying to get to a point where people can elect to come back safely. A few of the younger folks have no home office and crappy internet connections and want to come back in. I'm expecting most to to WFH for as long as possible. My only real reason to go back would be for hiring/training type stuff. I don't know how do that remote but maybe we can figure that out too. It's been smoother than I expected. Glad I didn't upgrade our office space last year.

Ahh crap now I've got some spare oil? Jenson!

Nah I'm talking about the big one that we all stare at and wish we had the balls to do. That one looks easy. The goat trail would be super tech going up or down. Not impossible but maybe beyond my ability to go up it. Going down I'm sure I'd reach the bottom one way or another. -

Anyone have video of someone sending that drop on E Spank? Was trying to describe it to someone not from here. I was over there exploring the other day and saw a sneaky up/down line between the drop and the main trail. It's on the side of the cliff with 2 switch turns. Someone has definitely stomped on it if not ridden it. Looks fun but with a high risk/reward. I tried going up but spun out after a few feet and decided not to really attempt it alone. -
https://www.jensonusa.com/Push-Complete-Lower-Leg-Service-Kit Back ordered 2 weeks for the Fox 34 but it comes with the seal install tool and all together is cheaper than ordering the separate bits so I'll wait 1-2 weeks extra. Next time I'll just need the wipers seals and washers.
-
The shop said 8 weeks but they would let me get a place in line and drop the bike off the day before so really not too bad. We should go to that method even if there isn't a virus ๐ค I didn't look into mailing it. If I was doing a full service I'd probably look at that. I'm really looking for excuse to spend time in the garage anyway. Yeah those are the parts my research said too about $50 per tool. I found a kit that has both for a bit less but it's also out of stock. If they get some before the rest of my stuff shows up maybe I'll order that but I'll probably just try it without.
-
Yup it's a 34. I've got a kit coming with all the seals and oil and stuff but it was back ordered 2 weeks so it's gonna be a while. Does tapping it just free it from the crush washers? Is that all that's holding it on at that point? Seems like it shouldn't be too hard to finesse off without the tool but who knows. I'll let you know when the kit shows up.

Shop quoted me 8+ weeks to do a lower service. This is one of those things I've been wanting to learn to do anyway and I've really upped my mechanic-ing this year. Any tips I should know? For a Fox there is a tool whose only purpose is to separate the upper and lower after taking the bolts off. I've read that not using it can damage the threads. OTOH that tool alone costs like $50 and is sold out most places. Thoughts? On the RockShox "yah just whack it" (thanks Hank Hill voice) after undoing the bolt a few turns. Yeah I'm doing one of each. Maybe start with my older RockShox fork if I have to wait on that "whackin part".

Why is this man yelling at me? Condors are cool. I'm listening. Bikes are also cool. I'm faster than a condor or something. F Yeah. Hot take: I still don't like Steve Jobs or Apple. Wait am I high right now? I haven't done drugs in very long time. I don't think I'm high right now. This guy is really yelling at me now. About 80% sure I'm not tripping. Ok wait now he's telling me tools are psychedelic. Does paying double for Park tools give me a better trip? Even odds I'm frickin blitzed right now. I've got a meeting in 30 minutes. Shit. How much did all the stock video clips cost to make this? Now I'm just looking at the transition effects and wondering how long it would take me to edit. Stopped hearing the words. Something about curing society. I am sober unfortunately. Take responsibility? Not on your life bud. I have no idea what just happened. Condors are cool. Bikes are cool. I'm going to go sniff a pedal wrench and and lick my repair stand before the meeting to see if I can get something off of it.

Fresh Kicks has been a staple for our summer so far. I've been digging that one. Finding some of my favorite NM beers is always a treat. SF brewing co has been easier to find in the last few years but I still wasn't able to get a Happy Camper keg for my birthday ๐ -
I was promised a taco truck on every corner almost 4 years ago.
