Gorgeous scenery. Never been a Remco fan but I guess I better come to terms with it because that boy is incredibly strong and he is just getting started.

Spotted this prickly little fella at Pace Bend today.

Good to go. Was bone dry when I started, got a few quick showers between around 2 and 4 but still good to go as of now.

Rode UP the AF bike park (as far as you can ride up) on Enlightenment (1300' in 3ish mi) then dropped down on the goods. Nice climb and descent but not much bang for the buck. Will sit my ass on the lift next time.

What did you ride? We hit Galisteo yesterday, then Hidden Mountain Brewing for dinner. La Tierra this morning then Santa Fe Brewing HQ for lunch, heading to Angel Fire tomorrow, trying to decide what to hit in the morning. AF looks kinda rainy the next 2 days. Decent chances here in SF too.

Lake Atalanta seems to often get overlooked. I think is a blast. Probably only around 15 miles of trail absolute max but I like to do loops on my favorite stuff and usually end up with 20 miles or so. Nice to have a level lake (where I usually park) to spin around to warm up/cool down too. Also, I get bored before a half a lap of any pump/jump track but I can spend some time at the Railyard. Paved/wood jumps and lines from toddler to expert. The trails don't seem to get as much maintenance (maybe because of the location or it is City of Rogers?) but I think it is well worth a visit. As a bonus Ozark Beer Company is right by the trailhead, I usually pick up a sample twelve pack and enjoy a few on the porch. Good quick ride on the arrival day or in the morning before heading home.

@BarryThe Telluride Gondola still free? I am guessing not.

I have been running Trucker Co sealant for several years (and their brake pads for probably a decade). I haven't had to think about it much so I feel like I have been getting good results. The injector just has rubber tubing that goes over the valve stem and the sealant basically just pours in, I really only need the plunger to get the remainder that is sticking to the walls into the tire. There is never any pressure so I can't image it ever spraying everywhere. The applicator says one time use but I just clean it and use it the 3 or 4 times until the bottle is empty and use the new injector for the new bottle. Dangit. Looks like they got zero rain last night but are closed today for a Spartan event. 😔 Update - I texted the update line and they should be open later but not until about 5, and there may be some moving parts as they break down.

I hope they are for an art project and not for stopping your bike. 🤣

We made it out here the Sunday before President's Day. There was a port-a-potty by the registration shack. They are pretty inconsistent, you have to check the facebook page every week if you plan to go out, someone basically has to go out of their way (likely ride the trails while they are there) to open/close the gate. The gate was listed as only open from 2-4:30 so we felt really rushed. The gate was open a little before 2 when we got there. The guy who opened it says someone else usually opens it and thought it was open until 5. I ended up getting back to the gate along with another guy around 4:40 and hustled to get loaded and ready to roll. We drove down the road a bit and could see the gate (still open) and were able to chill a bit and have a beer and taco and be able to stop anyone from locking us in, we were there well after 5 and no one had come to close it. No printed maps available there, I expected it to be a cluster of many small loops by looking at on-line maps but it is about as well marked as anywhere I have ever been. Just follow the red arrows for the full (13ish?) mile loop and at some point you see blue arrows directing you to a shorter loop. You regularly intersect a jeep road(s) with signs directing you 'back' to the parking lot. Overall it is extremely fast and flowy, with most of being in the bottoms in the woods with a few miles worth out in the scrub and up high, It is in really good shape, it seems to get just the right amount of traffic and is mostly true singletrack, not the 3-6' sprawl most of our local trails become, brake ruts, bypasses, etc. Interesting features and trail names. We went when we had the following day off (President's Day) and then went to Kerrville for the night and rode the Kerrville Schreiner trails on Monday before coming home. If you look closely you can see some golf balls in the trail. This was literally the only sandy part though. Mostly very smooth dirt. Lots of fun.

We were out there hiking just as covid was about to explode - first week of March 2020. The Indian Lodge trail makes for a good loop (using the road on the return) from the lodge. Hiking only - good views and fairly challenging. The observatory is cool, and the drive (or road ride) out there and back is sweet. Try to hit a star party if you can. We hiked up the Limpia Creek Trail (pretty steep if I remember (like over 200 ft/mi)) but the top loop looks relatively flat (we only did part of the Sheep Pen Canyon Loop) but made it up to some good views for a cold brew before the hike back down. We did see a few bikers, I think there could be some hike a bike involved but probably pretty fun overall. I didn't now this place existed until too late - looks pretty awesome but only open a day or 2 per month and required reservations. I will be there for a conference and will have some time to ride. Things could be wet and I don't expect much dries quickly so may be doing urban mostly. I have never ridden there. I will be next to Memorial Park so will hit that if I can, and maybe the Anthills (two trails I have known about forever). Any other in-town stuff make the top of the list? Cypress? I have one full day and it might be dry enough to hit either Huntsville State Park or Double Lake, any recommendations for one over the other? Any urban/fun routes? Looks like a lot of pathways that link up various parks. Thanks for any suggestions. There are plenty of breweries so I have that going for me.
