  1. Seems like terrible waste of bike space.
  2. I call dibs on the next time you buy a bike with a faulty dropper and it sits in your parts bin until someone posts about having one for free but then someone else gets it first and I ask the OP if it is still available and its not but you say "i've got one".
  3. Now all you need is half a milk jug, a cooler full of water, a small socket, and some used chewing gum and you're in business.
  4. Wasn't there another video of MrTheCatLady crashing on a different feature, too? I wanna say it was a blue bike at Brushy Creek, but I can never remember all the feature names out there.
  5. @MrTheCatLady, What kind of bike are you riding? I'm not saying that a new bike will make you ride better. Confidence will make you ride better, and you can gain a lot of confidence from the right bike.
  6. Depends how you look at it. This filter removes the categories so you just see all discussions. Sometimes it is really easy not to think about what category you are in when you get used to it.
  7. Yes! I was pleasantly surprised by that one. Very tropical, but very balanced.
  8. Electric Jellyfish blew my mind. It was one of the first hazy IPAs I had, and I thought that all hazy IPAs would be just as glorious. Boy, was I wrong. I like some, but give me a good old fashioned west coast IPA over most of hazy/juicy attempts. As my brewmaster friend said "we spent all this time figuring out how to make beer clear, now we are adding shit to make it hazy??" Fresh Kicks is one of the better ones, though.
  9. I thought about naming it something more specific but decided it would be more fun if it went off on some tangents. It reminds me of an old 90's area SNL skit about a support group for people who ruin things for everyone else. There was someone who decided to drive off without paying for gas which prompted the "pay before you pump" rule. And the guy (played by Adam Sandler IIRC) who peed all over public bathrooms for fun, now bathrooms are for paying customers only. etc. I searched the youtubes for a bit, but couldn't find the skit.
  10. No, not here. This is someone who doesn't care if they are seen drinking on the curb of a very active street. It's not a parking lot or park, just a residential street near the trailhead. There is a dry retention pond on one side and a service drive to a clearing with some tree cover from the road on the other side. Both much better places for underage drinking not to mention the woods all around inside the Greenbelt. The only reason to drink ice cold refreshing beer here is that you just got done riding or running.
  11. Three sundays ago I picked up 13 Michelob Infusions bottle caps. Two sundays ago, I picked up 14 Busch cans. This sunday, 16 more Michelob Infusions bottle caps. This is all at the same BCGB trailhead, in a nice neighborhood. It is a pretty popular place to park for MTB, hikers, and runners, but you don't see many of the swimmer/partiers out there, so I'm thinking this is one of us. Don't get me wrong, I picked these up while drinking beer after a ride, but take your fucking trash with you or no one will be allowed to park there!!! So if you see someone hammering Michelob Infusions at the trailhead, kick him in the nuts once for drinking Michelob Infusions and again for leaving his shit for the rest of us to clean up.
  12. Sometimes you gotta stop. It's the "Whew that was a moderate climb! I need to stop to catch my breath and eat a GU even though we did that at the top of the last moderate climb." that i don't like.
  13. We have pretty varied terrain. The bike that is most fun to ride at Walnut Creek is not the same bike that is the most fun to ride at BCGB, not to mention spider mountain. If I had to choose 1 single bike for everything and it had to be a hardtail, something like the Honzo ESD would be in the running.
  14. I'm more worried about getting lost and never found.
  15. Stopping during a ride to recover totally kills the flow of a ride. It drives me crazy when you get in a group that wants to stop at the top of each climb. I guess that's why I usually ride with the same 3-4 people (that's total number of people I ride with regularly, not average group size).
  16. As long as we are talking about the hard shit, have y'all ever tried Big Swig sparkling water? If you're sick of the lemon, lime, or fruity flavors of most brands, Big Swig brings something a little different. My favorite from them is Chile Mango. I've also tried their watermelon mint and prickly pear cucumber. Not for everyone, tho.
  17. I also wonder how much your local terrain comes into play. If you are grinding up a fireroad for 1 hour, then turn around and bomb down an enduro run, the flat lever position like Yoann's might work really well. Grinding up, you're seated high in the saddle and your fingers don't need to hover over the brakes. Point down, drop the seat, your body is now low and in line with the horizontal levers. Here, its pedal, rock, brake x infinity.
  18. Hilarious. It also exemplifies that are so many variables. That dude rides balls out, all 3 of them. I can tell you, though, if my levers were set up like that, both hands would be numb in less than 5 minutes.
  19. Can't say it's the same or even related, but I've dealt with my share of wrist/hand pain and numbness. The 3 things that have helped me and some others that I've recommended it to are: 1. Lever position. Point your brake levers down more than you feel is necessary. Your forearm, wrist, and forefinger should be in straight line. Most bikes you sit on have the forefinger point up slightly. This creates stain and limits blood flow. 2. Brake lever reach. If you can adjust your brake levers to bite as close to the bar as possible. Riding with your forefinger extended all the time, but the other 3 tightly gripping the handlebar hurts. Tucking the forefinger in by way of adjusting the reach of the brake lever can help relax your hands. 3. ESI or other silicone grips. This is meant to reduce vibrations. Grips are a personal choice, but these have helped me, especially in technical terrain where it is hard to relax your natural tendencies to deathgrip the handlebar.
  20. Now this is the kind of content that keeps me returning to this site.
  21. It was cherry juice, EVOO, fresh rosemary, chopped garlic, and a splash of balsamic vinegar. Add salt and pepper just before it goes on a screaming hot grill. It's pretty sweet, but not too much for the rich, fatty skirt. Caramelizes up nicely too. We do a ton of skirt and flank steaks too. Anything that slices up like that i've been preferring over the old hunk of ribeye/ny strip/etc. What are your favorite recipes?
  22. Black cherry rosemary skirt steak. One of the best sears I’ve ever gotten.
