  1. I would like to be educated as to the reason for that. These are not piles, but rather just sticks laid out in the mud (no rocks in the area). This is before someone went and finished the job:
  2. I put my ay-up forward so it's not at the highest point in the helmet. It's also a fairly low-profile light which helps. I do like the idea of dual lights on either side of the helmet. How do you aim them?
  3. Look at the top review. The person measured current draw and at 2.2A only got 40 minutes (1452mAh, not even 1/4 of advertised). The batteries are crap and/or the charge management circuit is not setup right. Either way, I'd walk away from this one.
  4. I want to go back with an electric 10” saw and some screws to build a proper ladder.
  5. Gift to myself: 1up rack to replace my aging (12 years) Kuat Sherpa. Why did I wait so long?!
  6. Also, keep your core warm and make sure the gloves are not too tight (have some iP cold weather gloves that constrict flow). Your hands should get warm blood. If your core is cold it will be really hard to keep feet and hands warm.
  7. (THE) George and I started it impromptu but was really happy to see others were inspired and finished what we couldn’t. We need to do this in a few more spots on the boat trails area.
  8. Thanks for posting the picture of J.D. My search yielded this cool article: https://www.michaelcorcoran.net/3603/
  9. I think it's adequate assuming people aren't trying to time-trial and can wait to pass people or give them a friendly "passing on your left". There's sometimes an issue with walkers walking 3-5 across at Brushy Creek but that's just people being a-holes as expected.
  10. I have a Salsa 90mm 5° you can have. @AustinBike I would love to borrow that 70mm. I want to see if it fixes a hand numbness issue on my road bike.
  11. I was reading about this. Apparently the often quoted research regarding how hard it is to germinate is b/c they may have used old seeds. It seems the key is very fresh seeds.
  12. I need to try them. I bought I think primal bibs (I like their jersey fit, so I thought it would apply to bibs and I was so wrong, I hate their bibs for multiple reasons). I'm really liking the Boure bibs (somehow tied to Ned Overend). They are more old-school with a thin chamois and they will customize your bibs...I just ordered I think the wrong base-size.
  13. Same. It's the only place I've see them in the Austin Metro area. I think that's their northernmost area.
  14. https://www.wildflower.org/plants/result.php?id_plant=arxa80 "It is reported that the fruit of this uncommon species is edible and that the fruit of related European species has narcotic properties." Who's gonna try it and report back?
  15. LG are my favorite bibs, but honestly the fit can make a huge difference depending on your body type (leg size, gut size, femur length, hip/butt size, etc.). My favorite shorts were some super cheap and very thin chamois from bike nashbar. The thicker pads are hit or miss and some may actually cause more problems than prevent them (numbness down there, etc.)
  16. You don't need to in a lot of states according to this site. Front plate should be enough. The link to the state law is bad so you may want to research it on your own. The TX law is very clear in having an exception for in-use rack. https://www.discountramps.com/info/mobility/license-plate-law-compliance-by-state/a/b135/
  17. RHR is a trail that punishes those that dare ride when they shouldn't be which is cool IMO. I've had to replace the whole brand new driveline after a 24hr race when conditions were bad.
  18. I rode peddlers and 1/4 yesterday afternoon. Peddlers west was moist (no ruts, not sticking), it wouldn’t take much rain to get it worse. 1/4 was fine. Rocks slick in some spots.
  19. That's more than DragonSlayer! Nice going!
  20. Does anyone know anything about this project? Trees have had tags on them for a few months and finally I’ve seen the Asplundh trucks in the area. I’ve been hoping they build at least a nice dirt shoulder in this road…or at the very least passing lanes. This is on the Travis County maintained portion.
