I have always had this fear that I will come around a turn and there would be some pale , barefooted kid with red eyes and bloody fingers, just staring at me. Or even worse the twins from the Shining. I have never ridden WC at night,, just Brushy the last couple years, which is amazing

I came home today all anxious to ride. Grabbed my junk , grabbed my bike and the bars didn’t budge. Frozen. With all the water lately and several washes apparently my lower bearing of the headset rusted or corroded just enough to seize up. I pulled it all apart and in the picture is the lower bearing. A Cane Creek ZS44. The top bearing is smooth like jazzy butter on a baby’s ass. The bottom bearing feels like sand as I move it. Rough and nothing like the top. Looking at the edges of the blue seal it does look wet and rusty in there. Do I replace that? Is it a serviceable part? I assume I can replace just that lower bearing and not the whole headset. Ive gone through Art's and Jensen before. Both had great setup instructions, didnt need them but they were good. If you have the basic tools one needs anyway you can easily do. Or post up and ask for a hand. Most guys are pretty nice and would be willing to help if asked nicely.

Curious Question How come there are so many CL ads where the pictures of various bikes are always in front of the same white brick wall , sitting on rocks ? I assume it is from a shop that sells used bikes?
