  1. Will the trails be dry enough to ride, and, if so, who's in for the ride?
  2. I'll jump in but not because I think straight downhill is not fun. I think that bermy, jumpy, flowy, pumpy trails that gently descend contours is more fun. I'd rather not be on the brakes as much, to me, having to brake too much indicates poor flow, and I like flow.
  3. I think Nando stated that AustinBike mentioned he would go inspect the trail tomorrow.
  4. Add me to the Not-On_Facebook people. I'm really out of the loop when it comes to ARR related issues because of this. :-/
  5. Yes, I do. I'll PM you my number, and you can text me.
  6. If you want help building wooden features, I can probably help. I have a chain saw and some tools for that purpose. I also have about eight years of experience building things like this.
  7. I wear a pair of knickers over padded shorts when it's colder out. It works for me. If it's even colder when I start and I anticipate it warming up later, I wear a thermal long legged base on bottom over the padded shorts and under my pants.
  8. It was a chilly but fun ride. I like most of the work being done out there to improvement flow and drainage.
  9. Why do you have knobby tires on your road bike? It makes since to have knobby tires on your mountain bike, but not your road bike.
  10. Thanks for keeping this topic at the top of the list!
  11. Yes, there is still an early group, though you never know who might show up. The faster group rolls out at 5:30 still.
  12. We roll out from the "island" in the pool parking lot at 5:30 tomorrow. Join us!
  13. Looks like tomorrow is going to be another stellar fall day in AUS if not a tad col when the sun sets. Who's in for the R&I?
  14. You can get a new Trek Marlin 5 with 29er wheels, internal cable routing, and hydraulic disc brakes on sale until midnight tonight online and 7 PM at one of the stores (11/26/2018) for $539.99 less $50 + tax at Bicycle Sport Shop.
  15. Cold. Wet. Frigid. Muddy. Slick. Yuck. Cold. Had I known how wet it was, I would not have ridden and damaged the trails like that. Also, while I appreciate all the work that goes into this event, as well as the sponsors donating schwag, I am not doing this event next year. November is not a time of year that I want to do this event. It's challenging enough without the cold. August or September, IMO, are optimal months. I'll eventually do three laps, just not as part of an organized event like this.
  16. Debbie and I are volunteering again this year to lead a volunteer trail work station.
  17. Yeah, the forecast seems to have improved. I'll be at the start line for at least one lap.
  18. Cody, your temperature tolerance level is greater than mine. I feel stiff in temps under 50 degrees even with a proper warm-up. Plus, cold air gets behind my prosthetic eye and into my titanium implant, which gets cold and can really hurt. In the 60s and higher temps, I feel very fluid.
  19. Weather reports are also predicting that it'll be in the low 40s in the morning and only getting into the 60s. Brrr.... Not complaining, just observing. Wish it were warmer, but oh, well.....
  20. I registered to lead a trail crew. Debbie, my wife, will be joining me. Does she also need to register to lead a crew with me?
  21. Thanks for posting here for those who do not have a Facebook account.
