I have a pretty big and heavy hearted announcement. I’ve lived within a 10 mile diameter bubble in north Austin my entire life... with my lease ending on 5/27 after 5 years of being in my south round rock duplex, I went under contract yesterday to buy my first home. In Brevard, North Carolina!! I love Texas so much. My whole life and family Is here, cat mountain, all my friends and the awesome Texas mountain biking community is here. But Austin is changing and I see more success in my life on the eastern horizon. With some quick action, and the grace of god, I landed a 4bd/2b w 4 car garage on 2 acres in Brevard, North Carolina! Literally minutes from pisgah national Forrest, and epic trail systems right in my back yard. Not to mention, the east coast is littered with lift access bike parks! Im not walking away from Texas, but rather expanding my life and growing! @victoryracingevents is live and well, and will continue Texas operations and oversee cat mountain, with a few logistical changes. I love you all. This is so hard for me and bittersweet. my mom has always told me “you can’t win if you don’t play” I’m all in and sending it in full faith of my future to the other side of the country. I could write a novel, but i won’t. Just wanted to tell everyone my big news. I’d really love to have a race or at least a big group ride at cat mountain before I move, In celebration! Stay tuned for more details. my new house has an abundance of space, and pisgah is an absolute mountain biking Mecca and destination. I hope to see many of you up there one day! Stay tuned!10 points

Saturday night ride report. Ninja Ross ride. Zero riders, shit ton of bugs Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk3 points

DT spreads the load over the entire Star ratchet. Pawls spread the load over just the pawls that are engaged typically three pawls even on a 6 pawl freehub only three are usually engaged. Chris King uses a spiral gear for engagement that as load increases the spiral gear engages more. Pawls are OK but usually show their weakness with heavier stronger riders. Higher end pawl hubs usually hold up well it's the OE ones that come spec'd on some bikes that typically fail. Wheels are usually where bike companies cheap out.2 points

I use the Sharpie method. Wrote breaker # and related outlet/lights as I’ve had to figure it out with a Sharpie on the Sheetrock next to the breaker box on the garage wall. [emoji849] As I’ve done work on each room I’ve replaced the outlets & switches too. Cheapie contractor grade in beige had to go. This genius wiring configuration took me a while to figure out. The outlets in all 3 bathrooms up & downstairs and the exterior outlets at front and rear door are on a single circuit that’s controlled by one GFCI outlet that’s of all places in the center of the garage wall. Not even at the garage outlet closest to the breaker box. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk2 points

I believe I have now replaced all the original outlets in our house. As part of the project I mapped each breaker (I still have a few left to map). I thought I was done with outlet swap years ago then discovered I had 10 more to do. I've replaced almost all the light switches too. For any of you in older homes with original electrical stuff, look into replacing them, especially if it's the cheaper builder grade stuff with press-in connections. Several of my outlets came out in pieces, and several light switches had been arcing. Breakers wear out too.2 points

I was out there a few weeks ago. mask wearing indoors is required but it’s on you to keep a social distance from everyone else outside. There is plenty of room in the paddock to space out but from what I saw, people were not keeping 6 feet from each other. As I said though, there is plenty of space to keep you and your group away from the masses. Out on the track, there is no issue keeping a wide berth from other riders. In terms of the T1 climb, it is definitely not “neighborhood rider” friendly. It’s a tough grind. Fortunately, there is a bypass at the end of the pit lane that snakes through the paddock, and dumps you out at the esses.1 point

Onyx hubs use a sprag clutch design. It's essentially a roller bearing that engages in one direction and when not engaged there is no contact with the hub shell allowing it to freewheel with no friction from the drive mechanism. Here's a good video of how it operates.1 point

I need to do mine. Like you said the builder switches and outlets are garbage. I've replaced quite a few as of now but want to swap them all out. I've replaced a bunch of switches that came out in pieces. Kinda scary.1 point

Yeah no worries I'm not actively trying to sell them. Hit me up if you want them.1 point

I felt fine yesterday after the shot arm wasn't even sore. Got some mild chills last night woke up with a mild headache and arm is sore. Like @AntonioGG said this is kind of a booster for me because I had covid. Should be GTG.1 point
