  1. Now if I could just find a modern, pedal-damping shock to fit my 99 VRX
  2. I prefer the 20-rounders, though most prefer the 30-rounders.
  3. 1. I'm going and riding because I took vacation to do so. 2. I'm going and riding because this is the only day this week I will be able to do so.
  4. 'cause I'm stupid, I really want a dirt jump hardtail.
  5. I'm bringing 54oz of a Nelson Sauvin IPA. Welcome to try it out.
  6. Dunno 'bout 2 years, but my 'midrange' Yeti 575 from 2005 was 2400. Bought a 'midrange' YT Jeffsy 13 years later at 3600.
  7. 0.o He did make KOM on STRAVA: https://www.strava.com/segments/8507455, though maybe not THIS particular ride.
  8. Guy said they had a gopro on a gimble at end of a pole, then he ran with it following the guy up the hill. You can see his shadow a couple times. Only drone use was at beginning, rest was handheld.
  9. So all those practicing for the time trial are going to have to learn a 'new' trail?
  10. "BTW, make sure you show Peddler love" Like, how much love? I did buy a Race Face Carbon bar and had them cut it down for me. Not really shooping right now, though was thinking about putting "gravel"-type tires on the Mary SS.
  11. I really want to "upgrade" my Trek VRX with an airshock/fork combo. Best I could do was get a new low-end 100mm fork; couldn't find an appropriate length shock. Even the fork, though one version of the bike was originally spec'd with a 100mm fork, this 100mm fork axle-crown is much higher when compared to original Judy XC I had on it. I have tried to ride it at Walnut, but it is so harsh it is not fun at all.
  12. Still don't think I'd want one, maybe, but YT just announced a new e-MTB: https://ebike-mtb.com/en/yt-decoy-review/ "The Hunt" promotional video: Ride video:
  13. I'm giving myself another week to heal, but really need a cool bluebonnet pic like these.
  14. I know the Thu Dead Sailor's always seemed to ride W2E. At least the couple times I rode with them. I usually ride E2W since the climb is more gradual. Suppose I should try W2E if I want to improve a bit.
  15. It's still there, but the leaves are gone. With all the rain we've had, I expect jungle-like profusions of PI.
  16. Thanks. Mostly just a thought, as I'm happy with SPDs. Just realized the ones I'm using now are 21 years old (old 520s, I believe, with the plate between the jaws). The Eggs were a set I bought to try out and just never got along with. Thought about putting them on road bike and use adapter on shoe. Just not done so, yet.
  17. Too fast down Hill of Life. Front tire washed out (TMFB). Bike went left-ish, right foot left pedal and was first to contact the ground. This was about mid-way down. May 2008. Had my foot stayed, probably would've torn up right side in some manner, maybe smacked head, broke collar bone, ripped shoulder apart. Who knows? Even when I've used the Eggs on the SS, still seems feet are about to come off at times.
  18. Is there a difference in cleats? They Time and Eggbeater pedals both LOOK like a bar in front, bar in back (though Times have always had the minimal platform between them.) A friend liked the Eggs, so thought I would try them out. First ride down Hill of Life left my tibia in 3 pieces and ripped the fibula off. Only used them a few times on the single speed since, but are currently in tool box. They're built really nicely, but afraid to use them.
  19. Anyone know differences from Time to Eggbeaters? I HATE my Eggbeaters; the always feel like they're about to let loose, and frequently do. I move my knees/legs a lot and SPDs just keep feet locked in. Whenever I ride the Eggbeaters, feet frequently unlatch from pedals.
  20. That is a shitload of too much rear brake in the first video.
