  1. It's well above my budget but for a full carbon ebike I thought it was decent at $6,200. But that last ebike I demo'd was $11K
  2. https://www.santacruzbicycles.com/collections/skitch I think this (flat bar) would be a great commuter.
  3. ASK: Anyone have a pair of 29" QR wheels with Disc Brakes? I'd like to borrow them for a day/weekend to test fit on a 27.5 frame and fork to see if I can build my XC bike into another "flat bar gravel" build. Details: 29" QR, std width hubs HG casette capable, but I don't need a casette No tires preferably unless they are <55mm/2.1" wide Rim width 15-25
  4. 2025 Event is on the Calendar: September 7, 2025 at Flat Rock Ranch, Comfort, TX. Registration at BikeReg https://hillcountrybicycleworks.com/local-events/ The event is super low key but well run by Hill Country Bicycle Works in Kerrville/Fredicksburg. This will (hopefully) be the 3rd time I've done the event, it's been a blast both years so far.
  5. The rest of my hooks came in, it easily takes the family bikes and then some. It does block alot of my storage but the idea is that most of the time only 1-2 bikes are there and then when I need to pull the cars into the garage I can sling all the bikes up and pull them in.
  6. More bikes = more (storage) problems...
  7. So I finally got to try a "real" eMTB today at the Pivot demo. Overall the experience was about what I expected. More miles, less tired, easier on my heart but still a good workout. It was alot of fun, but almost got borderline boring by the end? Hard to explain, maybe because after 17 miles at Walnut you've done everything at least once. I'd really like to try one on an A to B adventure ride or as a gravel bike for longer distance. I think I'd really like it. The bike (Shuttle SL) was great, I'm not a well. qualified reviewer but I'd say the bike and it's 3+ power modes were spot on. Perfect amount of assistance with easy controls to use while riding. Never once did I feel like the motor was doing something for nothing and never once did it feel like it was overpowering me. Spec was great, more than enough to handle the nut. I would love to try it on something techy like 1/4 notch. I think he said it was 37ishlbs. It felt great, but I have a dirt bike background so the extra weight didn't bother me at all compared to my 30 ish lbs "acoustic" bike. I can 100% see the alure for someone who wants to extend their riding career due to age, health etc. Or someone who wants to get more miles in. However, I would say, it's a different sport, it's not a dirt bike but it's almost not a MTB. Maybe you could grab a 90s stump jumper and compare it my Timberjack and say the same thing.
  8. Edit: Gone. Cross Posted Three tires available free of charge. Maxxis 27.5x2.8 Rekon, great shape Maxxis 27.5x2.8 DHF, great shape Maxxis 29x 2.4 Dissector, 30-40% used
  9. Ugh, sorry to hear that. Yeah being immobilized sucks; after my knee surgery I coped with movies, TV series and video games but definitely had multiple bouts of Cabin Fever. That was back in the days of DVD Netflix.... My first foray into outdoor activities was RC cars which was nice because I could sit or stand with crutches and still be outside. I also ended up with a cheap excercise bike in the garage that I got on as soon as the Doc cleared me. Actually, it's what got me into MTB, up until the inury I was 100% Dirt Bike/Dual Sport. That was 14 years ago but I more recently had a close call where I had a partial tear of my calf muscle during a pickup game of Kickball. Looks like 25 years in an office isn't great cross training for sprinting between bases... Luckily no surgery was needed but there was a good 36 hours of unknown where I wasn't looking forward to another stint making a dent in the couch cushions.
  10. So is the Peddler event at Walnut. I signed up to ride an eBike, watch out! BTW, how is the Acoustic Bike more expensive than the ebike?!?!? And how are alloy bikes >$10K!!!!!
  11. I have MS 10speed on my Salsa (when its not a SS) and I agree, a little clunky, but not bad. Tuning my Shimano M8000 11speed is easy and doesn't drift much. The MS is always like 90% right. Oddly enough, the Shimano 5000/6000 series derailleur and Shifter are less than the MicroShift. Here are some spot prices, I've seen them fluctuate withing $5-10 of each other.
  12. I'm looking for a Shimano 10spd shifter and derailleur, already have a cassette, preferably gently used or in take off condition.
  13. Well... maybe I misinterpreted. No Electric Remote Dropper. 50% of my cable actuated dropper use is for stopping on flat ground with my short legs.
