  1. They list helmet rentals for $15, cheap IMO. +1 for wearing a full face when recommended. It saved my pretty face a few times. 1 in particular was very helpful in a OTB at Duthie:
  2. Yeah, I'm trying to be extra legit as a way of justifying being mildly un-legit when there isn't an option. 😉
  3. While we are on the topic. What's the "right" way to get from Gnar/ Caddyshack back to the BCRT? I used to ride across the dry portion of the creek bed to the west/south side of the bridge but they fenced that. Now I hop over the fence. During warmer weather I might cross the creek but still...
  4. So I met this guy this week selling one of his bikes. Doesn't seem sketch, he has a day job and finds bikes in pawnshops, CL, etc. put a little TLC and resells them.
  5. So I know there are a few of you who have your own monitized YouTube channels both bike related and otherwise. I've watched a few of them and I've always wondered about a few things that I tend to do and how it effects the video creators. Most videos I could care less but some of them I want to shortchange them and I'm too cheap for patreon so I figure I should find out. 1) If I watch on 1.25X-2X speed does it change anything? Does YT still count it as a view? 2) If I skip the last 20-30 seconds of the video does it still count as a view? 3) If I skip all the ads? 4) If I subscribe but DON'T click the bell does it really matter if it's a channel I watch regularly regardless.
  6. What I wanna know is which one of you have time to ride AND stop and make a random, un-sanctioned trail change? I'll come out and help on a build day given enough notice but honestly when I'm out to ride, I'm there to ride. Unless there is a treedown or other act of nature that I can resolve in a minute or two I'm not interested in becoming a trailside stonemason.
  7. Make sure the concrete underneath is always wet.
  8. I was surprised how "wet" Caddy Shack was on Monday considering how dry Peddlers was. The rock along that ridge must ooze moisture for a long time after a rain.
  9. The access from Kati is on the opposite side of the cul-de-sac from private property. It's technically City of Cedar Park Property.
  10. Yeah... but if you read the fine print they come with a goat.
  11. Where were you guys tonight?! Save for 2 other guys it felt like I had the trails to myself! Aside from being cold the trails are in great shape. Buck up, bundle up and get some!
  12. I brought mine to our QA lab at work where they certify all of our production tools. They have a machine they attached it too that will test every 10ft/lb and then print a receipt showing how it did. My Snap-On I inherited from my DOT mechanic grandpa was perfect until it got below 40ft-lbs and even then it was only off 2-3ftlbs. Considering its rated 50-200ft-lbs and that its 40-45 years old at this point I'm happy. You can do your own "Super Scientific" experiment at home:
  13. Since there are probably a few of us non-racers considering the Peddlers Pass race since it is in our backyard....Logistically speaking, what do I need to sign up and compete in the Peddler's Pass event in June? I currently have no license, no paydirt etc.
  14. Rain chances are staying pretty low until late tonight, it's even going to warm up slightly after 4pm....go get some.
  15. Meh, I do take care of it but really it's a 2012 that I bought as a never used take off in 2014 and have put a moderate amount of hours on since then. It's lived a cushy life.
  16. I still ride that fork... I love the switches and dials. It has also showed me that I really don't need 150mm for most of my riding.
  17. Thank you. That's a nice map. That's an understatement. That's a great map!
  18. I have a question about SN. While riding I noticed several things that looked like sprinkler control boxes and Sprinkler heads. What's the deal, is that area some failed development or what?
  19. I was keeping it low key. But yeah.
  20. According to the trail builder/bike mechanic at the peddler, it should be a 1 mile loop.
  21. Yeah, that's right. The G-out is clearly a trail but the straight path that leads to the dead end wasn't clearly blocked off.
  22. Hey! I was back there too tonight. Was that you and your son I encountered on that new route where we met at a dead end with a 4th guy? I was wearing a florescent yellow shirt.
