  1. I've found the most important things in wheel tension are making sure all the spokes are within 5% of each other and not exceeding the max tension for the rim. I have the Park tension meter and use it every time I build a set of wheels. Tension is more important than trueness. A properly tensioned wheel will stay true longer than one with tension all over the place. Tensioning by sound is ok for me if I'm on the trail and have an incident where I need to tighten a spoke but for actual building it's not that reliable. I've always found that I over tension the wheel when doing it by ear. Park also has an app for wheel tension that's pretty cool to make sure your spokes are evenly tensioned. The tension meter can also help you determine if a rim is repairable or just complete garbage. Aluminum wheels that have been severely taco'ed can only be re trued and evenly tensioned to an extent, as for carbon once the spoke tension is removed the rim goes back to its true state and can be re trued and evenly tensioned many times.
  2. Hope you didn't forget the cover sheet for your TPS report😂
  3. Recently did a damper swap on my Yari. I used denatured alcohol to clean everything like I have done many times in the past on fork services but unfortunately not the best choice for this particular fork, the denatured alcohol discolored all of the matte black finishes on the fork. I don't know what kind of finish they're using but it is obviously not very durable when denatured alcohol can discolor it.
  4. Probably these. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/review-atomik-berd-xc-wide-wheels.html

    Madrone

I'd go. Been there a couple times. Nothing too technical just some rock garden areas as I recall.
  7. I've thought about a mouth guard on occasion to protect the teeth in an impact. The only problem for me with a mouth guard would be breathing I can't breathe through my nose well enough to get enough air.
  8. I don't know that the rails from the Fabric saddle come out. I believe the rails are cast into the saddle but I could be wrong.
  9. I went to it when it was in Austin years ago. Pretty cool to check out all the hand built stuff.

  16. Thanks for awesome time today was good to get out on the bike it’s been a couple weeks. Would definitely like to do it again sometime when I have a bit more time. Was really good though and cool to see the new stuff I haven’t seen. I think the church trails are better with a group than solo. JMO.
  17. That's ok my rear brake squeals on occasion. Gonna need to be chill I haven't ridden in a few weeks with all the holiday stuff.

  19. I might tag along if this is still on.
  20. Spec's can only carry what the Texas liquor mob allows them to. The distributors basically decide what any liquor store carries. It's bizarre. I was talking to the beer guy at the Spec's at Arbor walk and he said that he doesn't order the beer anymore he just gets whatever they send him. I said you're a "glorified stock boy" and his reply was "yep". Spec's and Total wine used to carry quite a few Belgian ales that I liked and slowly they all started going away. I asked about getting a different style of beer from a brewery that they carried and was told that it was discontinued from the distributor. On Long Island where I'm from originally, we had beer distributors that were as big as the Spec's at Arbor walk, all they carried was beer. You could find just about any kind of beer at them. Liquor was an entirely different store.
  21. I got a full face helmet from some guy I know😊. Also got an Osprey fanny pack and a set of Wolftooth pack pliers.
  22. My wife has severe arthritis in both knees. She was told by her doctor to put off knee replacement for as long as she possibly can. He told her that knee replacement is something you only want to do once. If you are active and do it too young you can wear out the replacement and the second replacement is much harder and potentially dangerous due to possibility of infection and other complications. And BTW my wife swears by hot Yoga and I can tell you it has helped her tremendously.
