  1. A dry nut is a good nut, for sure. But a slightly moist nut can be even better.
  2. The anticipation of this precipitation is giving me palpitations and perspiration...
  3. Many frame prices have ballooned from the mid 2k range up into the low to mid 3k range. Some companies I think are using decoy pricing to persuade you into buying a whole bike instead of a frame. Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk
  4. I searched SpinLister when I went to Hawaii last year and I did find a bunch of options, not all great, but that was *right* around the time they DeListed.
  5. I saw one pretty nice road bike that rented for $130 a day. Really up to each individual to decide how to pitch their wares.
  6. IIRC, they were around and then folded up. I guess they're around again. It seems like you could use this sorta like a bikeshare where you could grab a nearby bike to run an errand or you could treat like a rental, find a nice bike and use it for a few days if you wanted.
  7. I took CPR and AED training last year. I think CPR increases chances of survival to ~10% and AED is at least 2-3x that. But all of that assumes that someone can get to you to continue care and get you to a hospital. Given what I saw, I def would want an AED on hand if something ever happened to me. I took a stress test earlier this year and I just knew that I was a ticking time bomb (I'd consulted WebMD about knee pain, it said heart attack likely) but I was cleared.
  8. I'd been using the same one with good results. I did run out (I swore I had another bottle...) and had to resort to my ProLink Gold, which is decent but sticky.
  9. How many amp-hours is the battery on the bike?
  10. 1998ish Dekerf Generation. What I miss when I ride it on trails is disc brakes and a set of rims that is solid on the tubeless conversion. I use to commute and get street miles. Sent from my LG-H810 using Tapatalk
  11. Dang, gives out tips on how to approach the task and tries to make this bigger than himself. This guy sounds like a gem of a human.
  12. Jeff Kendall Weed's video on Bentonville was also superbe.
  13. LOVE JKW THAT WAS AWESOME. (Guys... seriously, unbunch the panties. This had a gravity fed focus. There's very little terrain similar to what FR512 is building out at Cat and Rocky Hill. They mentioned that there are good trails in town, but nothing like the big features and stuff.)
  14. +1 on BSS rental + Barton Creek Greenbelt being a great option for riding to the ride. But as everyone says... it is not flowy and full of berms. It is chunky and technical and beautiful and a hoot. +1 on riding with AustinBike for a greenbelt or Walnut tour. But don't let Walnut be your only ride, though, because it's a criss crossy, spaghetti noodle urban park that is indeed swoopy and twisty but doesn't feel as epic or remote as other trails in town.
  15. a) It seems that you agree that it is a complex topic, not easily resolved. b) I'd ride and have a beer/mimosa with you any time. I cannot imagine the experience of feeling that my body is such a mismatch for who I feel I am that the challenges of a transition would be better than the status quo. Welcome to the forum and community!
  16. Yes, this. Bikes already love breaking at the headtube. Throw a much longer fork than your Ventana was designed for and go do some drops, the headtube will be aching to rip itself from the rest of the frame.
  17. I agree with you, I made the same argument: with elite men vs elite women there are big gaps in performance. CIndy Abbot will kick my ass left, right and center but compared to a male pro, it would not be fair race.
  18. what shell width does your hard tail have? My Dekerf is 68mm BSA. My old stumpjumper FS is 73mm BSA. Which crank interface and BB type are you using?
