  1. Just want to say thanks to everyone involved for getting that race put together,as well as all the volunteers that worked on the trail and worked the race! I can't remember a time that I didn't at least have to drive a hour to attend a mtb race! A special thanks to @HoneyBadger, @DesertNomad,KOM! The course was perfect for the time trial format, hope it happens again next year!!

  3. My Lap times PR before race: 20:51 (pre-build) 21:52 (95% new build complete) Race Times: 19.38 20.14 19.58 I actually really like the Start/Stop that was used for the race. Somehow I think it helped me use my energy a little differently and I found it easier to "sprint" on sections I was usually tired out on. Kudos again to @HoneyBadger, @DesertNomad, AJ/ Peddler Bike Shop, KOM, Al the announcer dude and all of the trail marshals. The trail, event and the whole day went really well. My only hiccup was not reading the class times... I definitely showed up at 6:45am ready to race. 🤣

  4. I was huffing and puffing, and was about 20-30 seconds off my best Strava time, which I was expecting given the inaccuracies with Stava. I heard quite a few folks washed out in one of the few flat turns. The benefit of being slow I guess did not have to worry much about that. Was still a blast and loved it.

  5. 2.25” of rain last night according to the gauge. Whomp whomp! In other news, I picked up my bike yesterday from the shop so once it drys out I’ll be back to hitting the trails.

  6. In semi-related product reports, I bought some Specialized gloves, fingerless for long roadie type rides, that have a pad in the palm that is supposed to relieve numbness but I actually think they're causing numbness where I didn't actually have any before. I've been pushing to do longer rides (for me) so I thought it was having ridden for 5 or 6 hours but even shorter rides bring numbness with these gloves, I am starting to believe.

  8. I keep seeing references to Sponge Bob, does someone have a picture of this feature on 1/4 notch. I'm pretty sure I know the area, but want to make sure.

  9. Someone created a Full Gas on Peddlers Pass segment but it doesn't start at the right location. I was about to create this segment but wouldn't want to encourage starting from other than the official entrance. IMO stop watch (or manual lap on the Garmin, turn off auto lap) starting from the normal location is probably pretty close.

  10. I like a very slow rebound (lots of rebound damping). When I go over stuff I dont like to bounce. I can never remember but I think it means 2-3 clicks away from turtle.

  12. Also not a snake, but I saw this bad MFer on the Latta Branch Greenbelt (gravel path west of Dick Nichols) a week or two ago. Apparently they have a nasty bite. 8-10" long.

  13. I have yet to see a snake on a ride this year, but there was this......

  14. I prefer minimal padding at all contact points on the bike. Too much padding will cause soft tissue compression making things go numb.

  15. Such a classic representation from that era! Truly was a beautiful machine. Glad it went quick. -CJB

  16. I agree! Who knew a tandem could be so much fun! If you look at our individual times you would know the gas powering that train was at least 75% first blood!

  18. I'm really surprised we put that time down. It was way more fun than I imagined. Thanks 4fun for stepping up with me! Now where is our money! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  19. Gotta come ride it when the trail actually hooks up. Had a great time at the race even though I put down my worst times ever. I tried riding it how i know it can be ridden and that was killing me. The tandem race was fun as hell though! Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  22. I like Ergon grips because they have just enough texture to give you good grip but not so much texture that they cause hot spots on your hands. I've been rocking the GA3's for a while now and really like them. Was running the GE1's before those. The GA3's have just a small wing on the end giving plenty of support to the heel of your hand.
