The first sign of the apocalypse
Tree Magnet replied to AustinBike's topic in Mountain Biking Discussion
E-bikes are not the problem here. I’ve seen plenty of people put knobbies on their commuter bikes and take off into a trail that was way over their pay grade. Did it bother me? Not in the slightest. The bike did not make the decision to hit that trail, the rider did. I do just what AB did here. I tell them how to get back to their comfort zone and answer any questions they may have about how a change in equipment might help them enjoy themselves a little bit more. Eerily looks like those post A-bomb shots from Hiroshima. Sudden rain shower is much better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That looks damn good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I had honestly never heard of Discord. What is special about it? Have I been under a rock or is it niche? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

X is a good guy. I’ve dug trail with him at Walnut before. This site is social media and people quit it all the time for a wide variety of reasons so I just assumed he was simplifying his life and stepping away. I wish him the best. His posts made me think and that’s a win. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Found a water bottle on Rim trail this evening. If you’re missing one, I’ve got it but I can’t promise that I’m going to clean it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good post man. I think a lot of people feel just like you do about this resource. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nut was dry and dirt was of the hero variety. It was actually quite cool for the ‘I’. Almost jacket weather if you can believe it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jack Black just does whatever the hell he wants and I think that’s cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

rank trails in order of heat stroke danger

Pedernales has some fun stuff. It’s a different mindset but it’s really pretty out there. Hopefully they get to open it up more so bikers don’t need a reservation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
That’s a good question Antonio. I’ve never done it in the summer when you would need a water refill. There are neighborhoods that you pass through but I don’t think you can rely on that for water. There are very few convenience stores out there. I’d suggest picking your parking place so you can make medium loops that you link into bigger loops? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The heat is on full-blast. Are you riding?

I think that "...not terribly organized" is being generous. If you see a group in the island sitting on bikes with helmets on, they are probably getting ready to go out on a lap. Just jump in, introduce yourself, and go for a good ride followed by some good company. -
Damn man…that looks brutal. The most dangerous trail system in Texas strikes again! Heal up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Congrats Leif! Super excited to see you owning your future like this. Gigantor not going to shred with you? Cullen and I are taking about a Father’s Day trip so we’re just missing you by a couple of weekends. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can I just say this type of banter is going to keep us all sane through the tsunami season that has descended upon us. Carry on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

We checked out YMCA stuff up on the bluff and it was 90% of the way there.....and then it rained. Again. Everything is saturated and it’s going to take days of sun and wind to dry out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The biggest potential difference (not a skier) is that I really need my helmet to breathe. I ride all year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've never looked at Smith before but it's good to hear something positive. I've really been happy with my Kali because of the rail on the top used to mount my light. Seems like a simple feature but I'm on my second Kali for that feature alone.

I’d say yes. Especially if it rains. There are miles of paved bike paths around Bentonville to other towns. Last time I was in Arkansas I ran into three people halfway into a 200+ mile ride that was almost all on gravel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
