St.Bernardo
These were taken about halfway down. 1 uphill view. 1 downhill view. 1
Albert
I'm not sure exactly where these photos were taken, although I have an idea. I didn't realize where Wyoming Springs is, but I've written that a million times to get to the beginning of the BCRT. So they are extending the existing end of Wyoming Springs (where it meets Creek Bend) all the way up to Old Settlers? I had no idea, although I guess it's obvious that was going to happen at some point, given there's a stub for the road right there. I didn't know there was actually a trail there, I always would go a little west and take the trail that goes past the pool, or the concrete path that's a bit further west that dumps onto the BCRT. St.Bernardo
It was more of a double track with a short single track option on the lower end. Go ride it after work hours until construction goes full bore.
gdog-1992
Rode this yesterday. The concrete path with the short singletrack in the trees at the end that goes from Stone Canyon pool down to the BCRT is still all there and looks like it may not get affected by the road as the road will be to the east of that. But who knows exactly how it will end up as they'll have to build a bridge over Hairy Man and Brushy Creek.

Yeah, that's what I usually ride to get down to the BCRT when I ride my bike from my house in east Round Rock. I can't see how that would be impacted at all. RedRider3141
2 things... 1) The Wyoming Springs is being cleared, if you want a KOM on that segment, it's nice and smooth. Go get it!😜 2) I've been exploring the East End of the BCRT and it's great, but getting to it from West of Harry Man sucks (as mentioned above). It looks like there is some action on it from Wilco: On their site they call it: BCRT from Hairy Man Road 1.5 miles of 10 foot wide concrete segment of the Brushy Creek Regional Trail between Faith Missionary Baptist Church and Sauls Ranch West subdivision. https://www.wilcotx.gov/1351/BCRT-from-Hairy-Man-Road Timingwise looks like it's going to bid Spring this year and done by "Early 2026" There are still some major road crossings along the route but soon, riding from the Twin Lakes YMCA to Nearly SR130 will be alot easier by connecting the East End of the BCRT West to the West End of the BRCT East. RedRider3141
I should note, this segment will have to tie in with Wyoming Springs, hopefully going under like Great Oaks.
St.Bernardo
I would imagine the the trail will go under Wyoming Springs, Like Creek Bend and Great Oaks. The big part of this project will be the bridge to cross the creek. Have you dropped in at the Church off of Sam Bass and ridden eastward?. I haven't yet, but I did notice the Strava Bread Crumbs leading from there to the current dead end on the trail. Does it just leadout to Sam Bass? St.Bernardo
Yes. Hop off off the concrete and head out Sam Bass. RR has purchased part of that property for a parking lot/trail head to be constructed sometime is the future.
RedRider3141
More and more bulldozer action, now they're across Brushy. Here is the view from the final decent from Brightwater looking North over Hairy Man and Brushy Creek. I'm kind of shocked that they are allowed to just throw down some 5" rock on both sides of the creek and just drive through! 🤯
RedRider3141
I did some digging and found that the project plans and site and it looks like they are planning for the trail running both under the bridge E-W and accross the bridge N-S. This is awesome actually, because it will make a pretty direct route to the Behrens Ranch trails too as Wyoming Springs will go all the way to Sam Bass where it terminates at the Behrens Ranch Neighborhood.
