Water only and store in fridge full, when not in use. No odors/mold ever.

Sweeper is your friend. You can check mine out if you want. I (think) rugger also bought one a ways back too. Don't forget to check running and paddleboarding packs ETC. They're much smaller

Nice work man. Cool seeing you be a part of this video and getting the well earned props.

That was pretty much a complete marketing fail. I'm an OG Walken fan as much as the next guy, but him reading a script that sounded like something written by a lame executive bummed me out. The rest is just business and Gwinn is gonna rock on Intense this season. DAT gap at 1:32 😮

Pretty much this. I have to drive to all of my trails and because of that, I dont need as much water. Switched to a Dakine sweeper a couple years ago and wont go back to a full pack. The only time we use a full pack is an all day ride where i have to carry food for both my wife and I, or something out of state where we have to grind 3k feet on a fire road and can just carry all of our gear in the pack until it's time to bomb the downhill. Have to agree 100% on not having that stupid, hot, heavy pack strapped to my back when riding. The hippers are still something you have to adjust your riding to but, way better than raising your COG even further with the other. Ive carried a full bladder of water, windbreaker, basic tools, bars and car keys in the small 1.4L sweeper. If you need more space, use the side pouch to carry a small water bottle to put tubes etc in. I actually cut the water bottle pocket out of mine to add additional internal space. IMHO, it didn't make any sense to downsize to a hip pack, unless I was buying the smallest one available. https://www.dakine.com/en-us/sale/new-sale-arrivals/sale-new-backpacks/sweeper-waist-hydration-pack-backpack/ https://www.westmarine.com/buy/dakine--sweeper-waist-hydration-pack--16975583 One in blue (rare-ish) https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dakine-Sweeper-Waist-Pack-Hydration-Pack-NEW-Color-Blue/254092652485?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Dec854477ae8641589ba9a068f55e53a3%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D254092652485%26itm%3D254092652485&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Ab86191c9-23dc-11e9-a276-74dbd180c689|parentrq%3A9a4836861680ab1cb6336315ffed668b|iid%3A1

New video from BKXC chronicling his time spent in Austin. He did a really nice job featuring NFB at reveillie and Eric walking the viewer through the creation of the deception trails. Overall the editing on this video is very well done and even though im not a BK regular, he's definitely taking it to the next level like Seth has done with his stuff.

All I got Then there's this........

Unfortunately, a majority of people are just f@cking stupid. Hopefully, you can stop 20-30% of these "mountain bikers" from riding in the wet.

RF aeffect is lighter than 675 slx, uses Shimano BB and can be had for under $100 if you are savvy. Had multiple pair and no complaints. I usually go to PB classifieds if im being cheap or just grab a new works chainring. Otherwise, MRP & AB chainrings have been good to me.

Seems like one way to deal with our bloated scooter population is to hold the individuals signing off on all these permits accountable, and remove them from public service. Looks like Austin has granted over 10k licenses and from what i have heard, is over 5x what other comparable cities are issuing. Makes me wonder if someones palm is getting greased. https://austintexas.gov/docklessmobility

No kidding. We kept referring to it as Stabilene when there. Sucks about the gates as it seems only denial or brute force is the only effective method for stopping some people. Donated in the past with earmark for BC. I'll get back on that

I got talked into going on a work trip with the wife last week and stayed in abilene. Discovered beforehand they had some trails to ride and figured i'd drag the bike along and put some miles in while she was in her meetings. The area is fenced with a locked gate that you have to contact the LBS and pay $10 before they'll give you the combo. When i called two days before, they said its currently raining and wont be dry by the time im there and wasn't allowing any entry. https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/5673873/buck-creek-trail I know this type of system probably isn't an option on multi-use places like BC but seems like slaughter creek preserve has figured out a way to keep (most) people off the trail when its wet. I'd be down to chip in a few bucks to get some sort of control on the damage being inflicted.

Holy shit dude! You mentioned the crash but never knew you were coming off this too. Damn, you've been through a bit. Glad you've weathered the storm and FWIW, I'm hoping to be as lean as you when I hit 60. Any heart issue is scary AF. All the men on my moms side died by mid-50s. I'm 45 and according to my bloodwork, exams ETC, in really good health. However, that arterial blockage is whats been on my mind, particularly after seeing Mark Weir almost die. https://www.bicycling.com/health-nutrition/a25337675/mark-weir-dodges-widowmaker-heart-attack/

Consequences of unsanctioned trail building
ATXZJ replied to cxagent's topic in Mountain Biking Discussion
Tough to say whats fun for everyone. IMHO yes, hauling @ss down a mountain is an adrenaline rush thats tough to beat and probably my favorite. Little to none of that exists here, so I'll settle for the usual switchback/ledge/switchback/ledge/ ledge /ledge /ledge monotony thats available. AFA unsanctioned, seems like most of all the available "public land" is in some sort of nasty floodplain that cant be developed, so most dont notice if someone is digging until its too late. In reality, working with land owners to develop private land into MTB destinations is the only option here. -

I was a fairly talented skateboarder in my youth and was comfortable just bailing and landing on my feet. Being clipped in was counterintuitive to this previous muscle memory and i needed to retrain myself to ride clipped in and attached to the bike. For me, I go back and forth to keep myself fresh and not too comfortable with one thing or the next. If im trying to learn something new, im learning, having to adapt/respond, and thats good for someone my age.
