  1. I’ve had mixed results. Successfully did the cliff bar wrapper boot to get back from mulch hill and some lake Georgetown holes years ago. Then the before mentioned tube failure and walked back to TC from a short ways in. Tore a sidewall at brushy last fall and was by the swag rock bailout so after bacon failure + pump breaking I just said fuckit and walked. Think it’s more I’m tired of screwing with tire slime on trail if it’s walkable then tube failure lately. Honestly I’ve had worse results with slime tubes pre-tubeless. Plus tires are already heavy as fuck without adding that! Plus it’s a PITA to patch a slime tube it you double flat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I liked the LOViT better than Womble. Runs from the dam to mt ida on south shore of lake Ouachita. Also south of Hot Springs on Lake De Grey the Iron Mtn trail is a blast. Haven’t been yet but they added great Bentonville-like stuff onto Cedar Glades in HS. Think it’s called Northwoods. And yeah I need to make it to bentonville. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. An old ride buddy used to pickup the tubes jackwads left on the trail, patch them, then use them for trail side giveaways. Like 50 cent investment. And yes, occasionally someone had the nerve to make a comment on being given a patched tube. Personally, I’d love to ditch the heavy asses 27.5+ tube I lug around but not for $35. Truth is last time I used it I missed a thorn in my tubeless and fucker went flat a mile later. It’s patched and in my camelbak. Heavy thing wasn’t cheap so it’s gonna get 5-6 patches before I replace it. [emoji12] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Thought he was on the main BCGB trail and some hiker found him half conscious. Cracked me up seeing him shirtless with a FF helmet in summer. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Karate Monkey...geared, SS, 29, 27.5+, boost, 100/142...does it all. Build it with what you got or scrounge, up grade if you want. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Had some goofy ass bitch at walnut tell me her dog wasn’t aggressive AFTER the little bastard bit my shoe as I was riding up the concrete path. She scooped it up and hauled ass as I screamed a few impossible sexual positions at her. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. The roll in to Ryan’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Definitely. Rode there 3 weeks ago and took a friends newbie 14 yo son on his first real trail ride there. His mom had to buy him a better bike he had so much fun. When you get to the big open area at the top of the fire road there’s a big map that has all the trails color coded by difficulty. SUPER well marked and it all loops back to the open area. As stated above there was a grom riding camp going on and those kids were hucking off stuff twice their height like nothing! The XC stuff is fun swoopy up/down without any rocks etc. there’s some fun optional obstacles on the XC to hop on if you want. Or take it up a notch on the jump lines. It was a bit wet so I only rode a few lines. Some of the raw wood was slick as snot! Btw from parking area you ride path along highway 200 yds to a fire road, then up road 2/3 mi to open area. 9. I used voler bibs for 10 years or so. Usually pretty good quality but you have to watch for their sales. Bought some MTB specific bibs from pactimo a few months ago. Pad is very nice. Front of thigh is fairly sheer since they’re designed to use with outer shorts, but ultra comfy alone for this weather. just wish they had put the pockets in the bibs a bit lower. Bum shoulder doesn’t let my left arm reach that high easily. [emoji849] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. So now there’s a 2nd reason he’s called gigantor [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Ran across this well worded sign in zuckerland. Pretty much says it all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I was up in Seattle area 2 weeks ago. Visiting friends on a family vacation too, so only squeaked in a few rides. If you get the chance rent something and go play at Duthie Hill about 20 min NNE OF Seattle. Fun bike park stuff so you can have a blast in 30 min or 3 hours and never 10ish min from your car. Sea-Tac was super easy to fly my bike to. The PITA is you have to shuttle offsite to the car rental area hauling suitcase and bike case so it’s an extra 30ish min dealing with the airport. 13. Fun trail. Then a stop at the brewery in Frisco! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. I almost bought a KM frame last year. Loved the purple frames they were selling. Still need a new hardtail. The great value I was eyeing was Surly made them so either a boost or non-boost wheel will fit the rear. I’ve got a good 142 wheel, but anyone can pickup very nice used CK, DT or I9’s for cheap and make a great bike. Get a pair of non-boost wheels and pick up a 100 space fork cheap too! 15. Many treat these plates as an entitlement. They choose to ignore the fact that you’re only supposed to use the space when the person with the handicap is in the vehicle. Pisses me off after growing up watching a senior family member struggle many times when I was young to get his daughter with cerebral palsy in/out of a car because some jerk had parked in the handicap spot. Try getting a person in a vehicle while parked on a high curb with heavy traffic on the opposite side. The real “people are self entitled assholes” part is you can and many do get these for non-physical issues!? People seriously could not believe that my parents had never applied for one because I have an autistic sibling. He has no physical reason to need one. People these days really truly think they should be given this as a “perk” for having an autistic child. Call them on it and see the backlash of social media’s “they have it hard” mafia. People suck. 16. Lately I’ve seen so many great takeoff deals on wheels. Everybody with the cash to blow wants to upgrade to carbon rims on top flight builds. There’s always brand new DT350’s and I9’s with decent Al rims for the price of the hubs or less on FB sales groups. I got my I9’s from a bro deal, but my low end GX drivetrain has been as good as XTR stuff I had 6-8 years ago. Frame that fits, suspension platform I like, good fork. Not going to blow the extra $1k+ for Eagle vs GX drivetrain or bling wheels. Especially if I can pick up better wheels later. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Nice shot Kyle! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. I wondered if they were the same thing. Only one I’ve seen was at the Frio Bat Cave. A couple of bats collided and hit the ground and it came flying out of the rocks above the cave and snagged a bat and scurried back away from the crowd. All the predators know when the buffet opens for business! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. Celis and Circle in that same stretch. Edit: and if you cross Burnet, Austin beerworks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. I’ve seen both Fox and bobcat at Walnut. Last bobcat I saw about 2 years ago on church hill was freakin huge. Odd he was out midday during summer. Probably spooked from his usual hideout. There was a fox hanging in inner log loop I’d see regularly on weekday morning rides until they started construction on the sidewalk/NWC trail. Crappy Pic below. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. $200 vs several $thousand potentially sounds like a bargain! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. I’ve ridden more north of CS so others may have better suggestions, but don’t skip some great stuff if you have the time. On the north side of Denver / Boulder you can hit either Hall Ranch or Heil Ranch (Picture Rock). Both in Lyons. Or in Loveland / Fort Collins the Devils Backbone open space or Horse Tooth Reservoir trails. All short detours off the interstate heading to WY. If you don’t have time for a full ride after Denver you can session for a bit at Valmont Bike Park in Boulder. Jump trail, slope style trail, flow trail all within site of your car. If your friends haven’t suggest it, Curt Gowdy SP west of Cheyenne is a blast too. Several big granite boulder play areas to session along the trails. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Where? I’ll have to look next time I’m there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. You just rub some baby powder on the frame and every scratch or crack shows up. Cheap, low tech, effective. [emoji6] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. My college summer job was a split between a cable company high line crew dragging hundreds of feet of steel wire down asphalt roads, then climbing a pole to hang it. Then on rainy days helping their electrician BIL run AC ductwork thru attics in BFE S Louisiana. When it’s 95 and near 100% humidity and you climb out of an attic into a unairconditioned room and get goose bumps...it’s freakin hot [emoji3062] It was good incentive for a diploma AND why I’m usually ok with what the ac guy charges.
