  1. Thanks for all the input here. I ended up landing a killer deal. Only had 1 compromise from my ideal bike, and it was the XT 11-46 11speed drivetrain. If all I have to do is remember how to shift with Shimano again, I feel like I came out good here.

  5. Just an FYI, literally right above the big waterfall is where the county property line ends, despite where the fence is. I know it looks like the county property goes much further than the existing trail, but to the east and south, we are already pretty much on the boundary. The west we have some wiggle room, however, the superintendent wanted it closed to "protect artifacts". I would like to challenge this with the new parks director. The digging has continued since it was closed an fenced. We (Josh, me, and ARR) are going to try to get access back to the old trail (with modification) that goes up and around the ditch and comes down directly across from the existing line at the bottom of the ditch - bringing back the loop. Wilco has a new Parks director, he's a MTBer, so we are going to pitch a few plans to get some trail back as well as introduce some new trail as well. No promises, wish us luck.

  10. Used to use cream in my coffee but went black long ago when I got tired of waking up pissed off when we had no cream or milk in the house. The thought of putting sugar in coffee makes me sick. I just don't like Starbucks - taste, vibe, or high prices.

  11. If it's "cold" outside, ill grab a flat white at the SB drive-thru and that's only 2-3 times a year. If im desperate, ill grab a basic coffee from summer moon, 3rd coast, or cuvee as they'll get my money first. Since we're on the subject of food, remember this one?

  14. Mixing it up tonight with some classic Waylon and whiskey. Makes modern country sound like the absolute dogshit that we all know it is.

  17. I haven't ridden that in a long time, probably since they built the subdivision up on top. When I first started riding there it was almost always dry. I used to climb up it on my bike and that was actually more fun than going down it. The wet started when they started building up top and it's been wet ever since. I think some of it may be runoff from people watering their yards. I have slid on my ass getting soaked a few times while walking the dogs out there. People are unbelievable "let me take this beautiful work of nature and fuck it all up with some stupid handholds so my entitled ass can get up it". Thousand of years for erosion to create that and some idiot fucks it up in a matter of minutes. Stupidity and entitlement make me want to get off this rock ASAP! I was totally blown away by how amazing it was the first time I was ever up there, to be able to stand in something like that really lets you know how insignificant we really are. Pics included.

  18. Who am I kidding? i built my current bike ground up in 2013. What I spent on that = family of 4 ski trip or 6 months of club volleyball. I hunt, fish, chicken ranch, goat herd, and garden to provide food for them. Please don’t report me to CPS. My wife has friends that work there, so word might get back to her. thanks in advance.

  19. I was just arguing because I was bored yesterday. You never said it was "cheaper" to do a custom build, only that you can get in the neighborhood. You should probably buy that Ripmo. Congrats!

  20. So found out it was a good friend of mines neighbor that the paramedics were taking away. He broke his ankle when he missed a Turn after a bridge, but that wasn't the worst of it. The next day he threw a blood clot that ended up being a pulmonary embolism and was back in the ER! He seems to be okay now though.
