  1. Did 4.3 miles yesterday on Peddlers with my oldest. She wanted to do the "roller coaster section a 3rd time until I offered a bail out point near the parking lot and she realized how tired and sore she was. 😂 I was amazed she rode every single bridge and attempted the cedar A-frame twice! I can't wait to get her on the 24" Hotrock with a little travel and 7-gears.

  3. Saturday my ride plans were hijacked by my Son demanding to join me. So much for hitting big trails and miles. Instead we loaded up and went to Walnut. He did his own personal longest ride at 6.15 miles. Lots of sitting around to rest. But he had a great time. He's done Peddlers, but I think he liked .6 and some of the WC trails more. Will go back on a week day afternoon with less dog and foot traffic. He is super timid on going down stuff, but he has no problem climbing and picking solid lines going uphill. It was also a great opportunity for him to work on gear changes, so a win all around. After a good ride I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the start of a legit wheelset for him - 24" Velocity Dyad rims on Sun Ringle disc hubs. Should shave a couple lbs and let us throw the 1x9 set up on the bike. Pic from peddlers last month.

  4. Sold the Sony NEX5R a few years ago. Needed a small backup cam for hiking/biking, etc. UPS just delivered the Sony a6400. Man, what a HUGE step up. The auto-focus is unreal. 0.02 second focus acquisition.

  5. My first mountain bike was a Schwinn High Sierra. Schwinn got pretty much gutted when they started having Giant manufacture bikes for them. I will say that a custom Waterford is a beautiful road bike.

  7. I think life is short and I want to maximize my enjoyment when I ride. So, I’d put the wheelset on the bike that makes me smile more and never take it off unless there is a problem. If there is a problem, I’d mount that second set and ride. If you’re afraid of damaging the carbon wheelset, you probably won’t enjoy riding them because all you’ll think about is that rock waiting to destroy them. Just my thoughts. 8. One of our previous fosters got adopted. The second is pending adoption after his current digestive issues are sorted out. We picked up Green yesterday. We're told he was among a litter that had Parvo and they didn't expect him to make it. He's 3.8 pounds at the moment.

  9. Just rode Peddlers E and W as well with my daughter. With the wet week and changing conditions I had warned her that we'd have to check conditions before riding. East was amazing, no clumping and tacky. We did the rollers a few times and the lead in was so good! West was at the limit, not that it matters with the rain coming.

  10. For the last 3 months or so, our family has been working on clearing out my late MIL's garage, replacing rotted wood including side door and frame, patching small spots, caulking, and finally painting. It started with us going through the inside to clear it out from 30 years of stuff, getting the good stuff to keep, donate, or give away. Then making an appointment at the hazmat disposal site with my wife taking a truckload of stuff, and culminating with hiring a guy to take the rest. They sift through to sell, donate, recycle what they can and dump the rest at the dump. My wife and oldest son almost finished painting it. I'll go tomorrow to finish some indoor electrical work. I wish I had before pictures. Paint prep woodwork (and some indoor insulation + electrical) is what I've been doing the previous two weekends.) Thank goodness for nail guns!

  12. Just as a heads up to anyone out there doing a kids or any other bike builds. I used and would recommend the microshift Advent 1x9 drivetrain if your looking at buying from scratch. The four piece groupset cost me ~$124 and was rediculously intuitive to set up and the shifts are crisper than my Sram GX 11 & 12 speed drivetrains on my bikes. It Feels like it has a good clutch. Longevity is the only unknown at this point. Felt like a bit of a gamble when I bought it but so far a winner.

  13. When our friends were all getting new Honda 50s or Honda 70s, my step-dad got me and my brother brand-new Continentals. Mine was bright yellow. While I hated not having a mini-bike, the Continental was more practical and I put a ton of miles on it during my middle school years.

  14. Doing hardwood in living, halls, bathroom and dining areas & faux ceramic brick for the kitchen. Had a massive 3/8 hump in the middle of our living room and an equally low spot in front of the door. They spent an entire day grinding a filling it all in to get 1/16 total variation. So far ive been really happy with the flooring company https://www.facebook.com/SoleilFloors/

  15. My kids grew up around mountain bikes (both rode in utero), went through the trailer then the tag-along phase, and have ridden with us their whole lives (now 20 and 23). We have been with our daughter and her boyfriend in Sedona the past couple of weeks and it has been so fun to see her technical skills on display. We ended up on a really fun black diamond trail called Ground Control and she was solid! I was 40 when she was born and I told myself at the time that I wanted to stay in good enough shape to do real mountain bike rides with them.
