  1. It was bottle kill day on New Year's Eve with @Jessica! NYE was the day to clear out the cabinet a bit. Every bottle here had 2 to 3 drinks left. So we started at 10am and took it slow.

  2. superfuckingrandom vehicle post for fellow tank dorks Got to see the littlefield collection just after he died while the collection was still intact. This is one of the few running panthers in the world, and was on tank overhaul. Forgive the crap 2000s cellphone pic.

  3. From FRR: We have sunshine and wind this January 1st. We will open at 12 noon today. Trails will be mostly good at first and get progressively better as the day goes on. Will be slick spots in the shaded areas. Please park along the base road in the parking area, don’t drive across to get to your favorite tree. We’ll have to be careful with the parking area for a few days. Please pay online and sign the online waiver if you have not. https://www.flatrockranchtx.com/fees

  4. I’ve found that wind direction and speed are the single biggest factor in my lap times at Lake Georgetown. This is all due to that double track after Tejas and the dam. A good tailwind will shave serious time off the double track. Oh yeah, Happy New Year’s! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. On the upside, I knocked out over 5,000 miles last year. Sadly, ~80% of it was on the road: The new year's resolution for this year is more dirt, less streets.

  7. You did better than me, I got just about 4500 miles but on the upside it was all on trails. I hope to hit 5500+ for this year. Sent from my moto g(7) supra using Tapatalk

  8. I'm a dickhead but didn't get a bike. I did get alot of socks and a set of brake pads right before the rain. Now I am wondering how they caused this. Happy Effing New Yr Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

  9. When I lived on Long Island we had a guy that had a military collection/museum out on the east end. You were able to buy tickets to check out everything he had which was a lot. Some schmuck moved in next door to the museum and started complaining to the town about the tank museum and eventually forced the guy to move. The collection is now part of AAF Tank museum in VA. https://www.aaftankmuseum.com/about https://www.nytimes.com/1995/12/03/nyregion/long-island-journal-079626.html

  10. I met a few older gentlemen years ago that collected old planes P-51's, spitfires, hurricanes etc and thought that was pretty cool. Takes a lot of money but if you have it, why not. Sent from my moto g(7) supra using Tapatalk

  11. The wooden features on Tarantula at Spider mountain are a good way to get used to wooden features. You can carry enough speed to easily roll through most of them. Skinnies are a different story though.

  13. Tanks are like warbirds. Rich people collect yachts. FU money people collect warbirds and military memorabilia. They'll make more yachts but there are only so many Sherman's and Hellcats out there. Thanks for sharing.

  18. Time to drive a little for the weekend. FRR and RPR should be great by tomorrow. I'm looking forward to my third annual Opening Day 100k at FRR tomorrow. That, or gravel/road rides.

  22. I respect tanks and tank geeks and I've actually watched a few "tank engine startup" videos on YouTube. I grew up more of a plane geek. One of the coolest things I have seen is the AF museum in Dayton, OH. I highly recommend it. Back to Random Vehicles. I need to take a pic of the mint-condition 80's Blazer I see on one of my regular ride routes, as well as the Rockin' Tomato 1950's Chevy Panel van, and the custom 1950's crew-dab Chevy truck and post those.

  24. That’s straight badass. I think it sucks thy they broke up the collection. That dude spent all that effort and love in pulling those tanks together. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  28. We had been planning a family ride on NewYear’s Day at Walnut Creek but that ain’t happening. Still talking about some kind of urban ride but members of our party will likely balk at the idea of riding in the 40s. Fortunately we did get in a family ride at Muleshoe on Sunday.

  30. I grew up riding in the Huntsville and Houston area, and had never ridden outside of that area, aside from a trip to Palo Duro Canyon. When I graduated college I took a couple of weeks and drove through CO, UT and AZ, riding Salida, Moab, Flagstaff, etc... when I got back, I literally parked my bike and didn't ride it again until I moved to AZ a year later; perspective is everything. When my wife wanted to move back to Texas to start our family, I said okay, but it has to be west of I35... Even here, my riding slowed again, and any riding I do here is just maintenance for trips to the real trails.
