  2. CG just bailed. [emoji45] On my 2nd SC and the first Tallboy survived 5 years of my stupid mistakes. Had one minor failure on an insignificant metal insert on the swingarm and post PON buyout everyone got upgrades to the latest model. No producing prior model parts for warranty claims.   3. I always carry just water in a camelbak and mix hydration/energy stuff in a bottle on the bike. I used a product called E-Load for years but it’s getting hard to find. It has a very very mild flavor and is more electrolyte replacement based vs. calorie intake. During the winter/cooler months I run it pretty much as instructed. In warmer months I mix it 2-4 times as strong so i can take a chug of water and just a sip from the bottle to get it close to regular strength as I can tolerate. The e-load was so mild that at triple strength it was about like Gatorade. Got a deal on Skratch last year and it’s about the best I tolerate of those with sugars. Just can’t take the taste above normal strength so I usually return with half a bottle and drink more of my water. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. Theoretically you could put the whole thing in the post held in by a bar plug type expanding bolt. Or like OneUp’s tool carrier under the stem cap in the fork steerer.   8. Private landowners tend to sign off on the rain or shine policy. Many depend on that gate fee from races to cover their property taxes, insurance, etc. Big consequences for a working ranch. Public property, not necessarily. Tyler State Park used to be a TMBRA race venue 20 yrs ago-ish but the rangers close the trails when wet year round. So it’s a non-starter for TMBRA. I skipped the attempt they had at a nearby venue on a MX course. Didn’t go over well and only lasted 1-2 yrs. IIRC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. Mine’s pretty old too. A few taller 29 tires I have to tip the bike over and bring the arm of the rack almost to the brake arch on the fork then tip the bike back and arm slips over the tire. No prob on 27.5+ but I’d imagine 29+ tires are pretty tall! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  12. Can’t get more fall line and eroding than the end of mulligan. And that shit’s fun! It’s bandit, turned sanctioned. SA trail network...99.9% bandit, pretty tame. Can’t lump them all into one pile. Damn few have not ridden both sanctioned and unsanctioned and everyone will have some justification. Some areas like this one the number of users vs. open space is super lopsided. It’s inevitable. That applies to ALL user groups, not just MTB’s. If not, I wouldn’t see flagging for hikes, runs, and see birders and geocachers all over the place in areas some of these groups cry foul about. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  16. Don’t know if BSS is still doing their suspension class, but it was well worth it when I bought my Hightower a couple years ago. I had a half off coupon (thanks D!) but it would have been worth the full price. Yeah, it was a bit monotonous riding the same 50-75 yds about 30 times changing things one click per run but it was pretty eye opening on where I started and where I ended up on my settings. I think the biggest take away was there is no magic setting ANY website or wrench can tell you that you’re going to be 100% satisfied with or get it to perform as designed right out the box. You have to take a day and slowly dink with it ‘til it feels right ON the trail. Only way to do that is pick the typical spot you want it to perform best at and do it over and over and over and over. Like 99.9% of us I would do a full ride then try to adjust, then do another full ride...no immediate feedback that way. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  18. I started riding on visits to the in-laws around 95 and we moved here full time in 98. I’ve got a binder full of old maps from all over the south like those.   19. I’m with Ridenfool. On small volume high pressure and high volume low pressure (i.e. plus tires) every pump seems to be way different. I just got a nice digital gauge for tires and grab whatever pump. I need a new shock pump guess I need to shop digital ones. My 15 y.o. Trek Wrench force is all over the place lately!   22. bcgb.pdf cxagent, finally found the booklet. Looks like it might have been the 1st iteration of yours. It pre-dates when I moved here, so probably 95-96. You were correct, not an ARR project. Gettin' old and confusing my piles. I have several others from other regions back then that were club fundraisers.

  24. I used to still have one of those old paper book of trail maps ARR used to sell thru LBS as a fundraiser back in the mid 90’s. Might be able to re-locate it. Hopefully it wasn’t in the box of stuff in my office the dog pee’d on that I tossed recently. It was hilarious looking at maps of Forest Ridge, the Rifle Range etc. As soon as the rain stops I need to pack up Christmas lights so I’ll dig around the attic while I’m up there.
