AntonioGG
Is the R&I dead? I wanted to join today but I'm back from a week in the NE and in catch-up mode at work.

Nope - we were out there and rolled out at 5:30, beer and sausages at ~7:00 thru 9:30

WhoAmI
There was even peach cobbler and ice cream.

Does a regular cooler in the car keep stuff cool enough or is a yeti or powered cooler needed?

One of our guys showed up with the ice cream in an RTIC cooler with lots of ice packs right as we started digging into the ice cream. We keep it in the cooler when we weren't scooping it. I put stuff in bottom, ice pack on top, then fill up air space with towel/clothes.
quixoft
My interest is piqued. Is this happening? Looks like it happened last week. I got some new bits on the bike to fix up after a crash I need to try. I also like riding and imbibing and while I may not be great at the former, I'm a certified expert at the latter. AntonioGG
Is everyone riding with back/hip packs or is anyone still riding with bottles for the R&I?
Shinerider
Nando does a Fannypack.
AustinBike
I use a hip pack in the middle of the summer, bottles for the other 6 months.
AntonioGG
I'll be there around 6pm or so with sausages and GDMF low carb tortillas.
TAF
My 'R' took place on Monarch Crest, with the 'I' at Elevation Brewing. If it's any consolation, the deer flies were out in abundance.
June Bug
Anybody showing up today (July 25, 2023) wear a men's size 10.5 shoe in FiveTens? Mr. June Bug got a pair of Five Ten Free Rider Contact over a year or two (three?) ago and they are just the tiniest bit too short, so he used them for a ride or two and that's it. These are the kind with a smooth sole. Look almost new and free to whoever wants 'em. Spread the word to anyone who might need them. Post up here, I'll DM you my phone # and you can text us when you're done with your ride.
hurronnicane
If nobody else wants them, which seems unlikely, I would love to have them, but we are in Flagstaff and won’t be back in Texas until early September.

AntonioGG
What’s the plan? Urban ride? Postpone? ABGB?
AntonioGG
Do we bother bringing anything tonight or do we end up at ABW?
AustinBike
I ended up at home. Internet went out and had to wait for a tech. ABW is the proper option these days, although I think Bouldin Acres on Barker could be an interesting option.

But little water in Marks Art crossings, and along the latter part of the chainlink fence is pretty muddy. I did not ride BMX or windy -CJB
