I experienced it on a trip to England one time. I was on a work trip, and the company I was visiting had some guys who ride, so they took me out. We did a 10-20 mile ride from village to village, weaving around through dirt roads, paths through fields and sheep pastures,, etc. A lot of the fences between property had steps over them where the paths crossed. The coolest were the old stone fences, with steps built right in via stones turned sideways and sticking out. Throw your bike over your shoulder, climb over, and you were on your way :). I remember thinking how cool it was to be able to ride to the next town over, stop at a pub, and ride back without spending much time at all on the road. Especially for a country with European population density.2 points

Who cares, sorry I brought it up. I'm changing the channel. Maybe there's something on the MTB channel here.2 points

Yeah. I put chain back up. All but peddlers is good to ride. Go get it while you can! Slick rocks in places but drying quickly. Rim Job was only place it got real precarious. Skipped Gnargasm.2 points

Props to you for being on the bike again, man. I’m really... like really hoping the rocks dry by like 11am...or that picnic is doable and I’ll just warm lap it like 10 times or something... maybe that line along the tree line in that flat field if not cakey. I don’t mind slick rocks sometimes, but definitely not West Deception. Just asking for new teeth or shoulders and helmets. Ugh, these dicks with no helmet. I’m not polite to them. I’ve explained to a few that if they end up vegetablizing themselves it could all end... or at least change everything, including but not limited to, them. I really wanna ride. Glad to hear the dirt is at least ok on SOMETHING.2 points

I ended up just riding over to the YMCA from the house and doing several laps on Snail. Rocks were slick there too but it was a great hour or so of fun. Kept hitting that high arch on the left that loops up around the tree heading towards the BCRT, and on the last lap I came in too hot and couldn't get pointed down quick enough. Ended up skidding down but walked away with nothing more than minor abrasions and a deep thigh bruise.2 points

Problems... It's the norm. As growth takes place, problems begin to increase. It happens with family. It happens with business. It happens with community. And it's happening with mountain biking. This is why there's that 'ol very legit and applicable saying... "Get out in front of it." https://www.outsideonline.com/2407740/mountain-biker-behavior-trail-access?fbclid=IwAR0itLscDSut9tpbsFhd4DfXgotRqNTAKOKa3cWS0atS7A3ikg7C7Yr_MjQ#close1 point

Thankfully we're all about riding. We're grownups, we disagree at times. Posting this on my phone from my wife's hospital room, she's finally able to sleep. That's what's really important. Hope to be back on the trails in a couple weeks. Edit: Couldn't stand the white text on dark background.1 point

I wasn't on dirt at lunch, but on the road, the sun and wind are drying things really fast.1 point

I had never heard of these guys, but I just finished listening to their first album. I'm definitely putting them in the rotation. Sorta reminds me of these guys:1 point

I've got me wife's old K2 Zed-X hardtail that I would like to see go to a needy home. Its a size small, but I'd guess is a 'bigger' small. She is 5' 7" and it fit her well enough. Besides being a bit "classic" with 26" wheels, 9 spd, rigid and v-brakes...it rides and shifts very well. Tires are setup ghetto tubeless and will have to be redone or add tubes. Bike will not come with pedals Thanks, Cody1 point

I Oskar Blues almost weekly. And every since they they ran out of my old favorite, the 2017 Ten Fiddy, and came out with the hoppy 2019 Ten Fiddy, I've been enjoying the Old Chub. Hopefully that 2019 version will mellow eventually. Until then, Old Chub! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk1 point

Nice!! Have you tried the wee heavy from real ale? Probably one of the best values in wee heavy beers.1 point

Picnic, quarter notch and snail are good to go. Be careful though, some of the rocks on quarter are super slick. I’m sure double down is fine if your slick rock riding skills are up to par. I was too nervous to try.1 point

Can someone dry the trails out please? I don’t want to spend the evening with my in-laws. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

If shaming folks was a reasonable motivator, then @RidingAgain wouldn't be posting here. Instead it will likely create a group of antagonists, some of which will do things just to spite the shamers.1 point

I was there around 3:45pm, as I rode to the entrance to Peddler's saw a bunch of people riding, got to the entrance and saw the chain up and very wet looking trails. I will give people the benefit of the doubt and they think "it's muddy but I'll just wash my bike and be safe so it's okay", they are not thinking "it's muddy and our soil just can't handle it and I'm going to ruin the trails". At least I hope it's just ignorance and not just being selfish...1 point

OK, WC is wet and the weather is not looking optimistic for some quick drying. Let's give the trails some time to dry out. Urban R&I tonight, starting at Oskar Blues, departing @ 5:30 sharp. We'll do some urban riding (primarily bike lanes) and then swing back to the brewery. Food truck on site AND Tuesday is $2 canned beer night. What could be more fair?1 point
