Thanks for sharing Cody. Three comments:

1 - that is kick ass

2 - that is a lot of rack for one 15lb roadbike

3 - nice gloves!

🤣

1) Great weekend....Day 3 I climbed Mt Graham on outskirts of Tucson.  5k ft in 15 miles (up).

2) The rack doubles as a barrier preventing neer-do-wells from climbing into the back of my truck with me at night.  🙂  My bike fits in my truck bed with me.

3) They are custom fabbed to allow for smart phone interactions.  LOL

Where have you been hiding?  Jeff and I speak of you often.

Just jacking with you about the gloves, I am sure we have all been there. I had a special pair for travelling and exploring where I knew I would be checking my phone and/or Garmin a lot. Some of the newer gloves work very well though on touchscreens so I finally retired mine.

After 2 different trucks/shells I finally figured out a hack to lock it from the inside. If you have guides along the locking rod, clamp some small vice grips right next to a guide and it will hold the handle closed.

I have been riding quite a bit but you won't see me on any of your 120+ mi mtb rides!!! Chateau!

Yesterday I rode at Pedernales Falls State Park for the first time in a while.  All the recent rains had things particularly lush, creeks flowing, stuff blooming.  Jones Spring is flowing and the ferns there are rocking!  I had good intentions of starting on the early side but it was 10:00 am before I arrived.  Got lucky as it was cloudy and breezy, and didn’t seem that hot till the final 30 minutes. I did run into a couple hiking and one of them was having heat-related stress.  They were a long way from the parking lot, and though they didn’t ask to be rescued I told the park ranger and it sounded like they were going to send someone out there to see if they needed help.

This is getting old. Every ride I end up with a ton of burrs. Granted, this was probably the worst example but was just from a pretty standard BCGB/SATN combo ride. No bushwacking or mystery trails involved.

I was soaked from the rain after today’s ride and my socks were covered in burrs. Surprisingly, it was easy to pick the burrs off the wet socks. Maybe that’s the ticket?

Two days ago, on my 67th birthday, my daughter and I had another great ride that included another section of the Arizona Trail, a wonderfully-fun, flow trail (Full Sail), and a long downhill (Schultz Creek) to our shuttle.   20 miles, 1900 feet of climbing and 2500 feet of downhill fun!  Afterwards we drove down to Oak Creek (Bootleggers) near Sedona for an amazing swim.  A great birthday indeed!
