  1. Checked back into Mojo and saw that everyone jumped ship to over here. For those not from Mojo, my name's Eric, I ride with a prosthetic arm, and run a YouTube channel.

  4. It does and I've locked apple pay and reported it lost. I love it because it is an extension of my phone, text messages, music, etc. I guess I can now just eff that shit and focus on riding even more. BTW, I finally have a Stella Ti.. the first time I saw yours I have been drooling for one.

  6. Just checked out the trails. Peddlers is a definite no, Mulligan is ok, Picnic is definite no. I rode about a third of 1/4 notch and ducked out because a few spots were rutting real bad. If it doesn't rain tomorrow, it should be fine in the morning.

  8. I bought my son a used GP Hero4+ of an MX forum recently for $75. We may be interested if you end up selling yours. My son fancies himself a burgeoning filmographer. Later, -CJB

  9. Definitely knee pads. I have RaceFace Digs, but I'm not loyal to them. I have a full face as well. Highly recommend the Kali Shiva, but I'm actually wearing my Smith Rover in the fall. More than anything, goggles. It gets super dusty and shades just won't do it.

  10. I would think there would be no problem riding Back 40 the day after the race. Its a marathon race, so most people will have had their fill and will not head out to the back 40 for a full loop on Sunday. There will probably be plenty of people preriding the day before the race which is not necessarily a bad thing, unless you are slow and dont like talking to mountain bikers. 😉 Edit: I see the pro race is on Sunday. I would not worry about this since the pro start is at 8:40. They hit the Back 40 clockwise at the blowing springs entrance at mile 10 of their race which will be well under an hour. I would think that you would be good to enter in there by 10 and start riding counter clockwise. If for some reason you wanted to ride it counter- clockwise, I would park near Gainford Drive and go from there after 12. I would hope the course would be all clear from there or else someone is having a real bad day. You would also be good to ride blowing springs that day too. Though I would not be surprised if there were some parking challenges in blowing springs that weekend due to the race, so you may ride in from teh street near the hospital or park elsewhere as mentioned. I rode to blowing springs/back 40 from downtown and thats a big day on the bike. make sure to have a beer and check out the fat tire crit on Friday afternoon. This is a Pro only event. They have to do a street/dirt race. Its rung what you brung (you can swap any tires) and you have to do a 3 lap Criterium street race on your Mountain bike you race on Sunday. There could be some singletrack in the street loop to make things spicy for folks who put full slicks on their MTB.

  14. Yeah, I dig the Pee Wee street cred they give me. After riding with them for years, trying to ride with straight bars is like a form of torture now. Those AB posted are bent about the same, as are the Surly's on that link. I suspect that any of those would be an improvement over the status quo.

  18. Thats a new and interesting idea. I've never considered only doing a leg of LGT, but in some ways that could make sense. I actually "like" the section from CB to Tejas too. Since I've now begun to miss some of my benchmarks that would lead me to fulfilling the original scheme, I've become hesitant to post up other things that "I should/could/plan to do". But now that we are on the subject, I've considered simply adding in Deception to my regular EB day. After Thumper when everyone goes back East towards WC....I'd simply go West (I've got a nice clean route) and drop into Deception at Staked Plains and ride it backwards. Pop back out onto Parmer and continue East to WC. I checked the results from last year and if I added in an additional 1.5'ish hours then I'd still be completing the EB in the top 30. Right now, I'm sorta beginning to focus in on the Bentonville Epic Rides event that I've signed up for. So who knows what I really end up doing. I had hoped for some kind of 10 yr anniversary EB challenge but.... Later, -CJB

  20. Maybe this belongs in the ghetto thread, but when you break a handlebar in the middle of a ride, find a stick that is about the same diameter as the bar. Put one end in the bar and then stick the broken piece on the other. It will not bear any weight but it will allow you to steer your way back to the trailhead.

  21. I found the code responsible for displaying the popup on mobile devices and not doing so on other devices.. if( ips.utils.events.isTouchDevice() ) { ips.ui.alert.show( { type: 'confirm', icon: 'question', message: ips.getString('notificationMarkAsRead'), callbacks: { ok: function () { execMark(); } } }); } else { execMark(); } Unfortunately, this code is in a massive (2MB!) 'javascript.xml' file that is compiled and put into the database. I have not yet figured out a way to force the forum to recompile this file so the database is updated with my changes. Once I do, a confirmation should always appear when clicking one of those icons, regardless of what kind of device you are using. ..Al

  23. I have a bandana that is the last thing I shove into my seat bag. Its primary use if to take up the additional space to prevent rattling. However, I've used it on MULTIPLE occasions for injuries out on the trail. Luckily for me, they've been 'other people's' injuries. But I had a riding buddy nearly sever off the tip of his finger via a disc rotor during a spectacular crash. My trusty bandana saved they day (and his finger)! -CJB

  25. I would just say get a giro switchblade helmet, or fox pro form, etc. these are "enduro" full face/convertible helmets which are a little lighter than full blown DH full face helmets. but still offer great protection..knees pads are an absolute must though
