  3. Due to crappy humid weather this has been my go to bike for the last 13 days. Decided to do a 30 rides in 30 days challenge. 19.1 miles per day currently at mile 247 as of today.

  5. My sincerest apologies... I completely read you comment incorrectly. I thought you were saying that what I said makes no sense. Sorry about that. And I mean it.

  6. No, I'm actually agreeing with you. RLAG booking their rides during the worst time of the year, and during hours when most people have to work or tend to family doesn't make sense to me. My wife saw the schedule as asked if all these people work from home. She also hates riding in the heat almost as much as I do.

  7. Haha I'll take Dunkin Donuts coffee over Starbucks anytime. When I get Starbucks gift cards - I give them away.

  8. Gonna buy a used Fox 34 from @4fun. I think it's 130mm. I want to reduce the travel but I'll probably learn to love the extra squish and leave it.

  9. Registered wife and I for banduro. She was stoked to see a women's beginner class with 5 vs 8 stages and will be a great way for her to get started. I'll be bringing up the rear in the 40-49 group šŸ¤£

  10. Iā€™m here now but I flew with my road bike not mtb since my brother has a road bike and only my old Kestrel MTB. About to head to Mt Hood to do a big climb. Will also go to BC and WA state next week (I know, how did I not bring my mtb? Easy, family trip.)

  11. My wife has MS and her car has plates, and we have a placard for the rare times she rides in my truck. MS is another of the "invisible" diseases. Just because she doesn't look sick doesn't mean she can walk far, especially in the TX summer heat.

  15. Ok, so it's settled. We ban both Single Speeders and any person under the age of 60 from everything? I'll get the attorneys on this ASAP. We will need signage, and probably maps.

  16. I'm not aware that the law was put in place because of a law suit. I'd thank a rapey, victimizing society. To cxagent's point, it is not logistically easy to stay in compliance with a rule. What if a child decides on their own to run/ride off into the woods with another child? Do you split with your adult partner and create two groups? I had this happen when I was hiking with a group. Those kids were on their own, as far as I was concerned, and I simply notified their parents and other leaders that there were kids running around the woods (like they're supposed to do as kids, but against the nature of an organized hike). But it's a rule for self protection and protection of the kids. It's not a law. IMO, an emergency would override the need to have two adults at all times. It's hard to have a rule that every kid must be accompanied by a parent because not all parents have bikes or can bike or want to bike. Much to consider.

  17. Seth - I forwarded this even to a family in San Antonio with a kid that rides on a NICA team. They might be able to get a load of teenagers out there to help dig but I'm not sure if you're cool with that. If they can't dig, they'll certainly down to ride but either way, they will get to experience some Bandera dirt.

  25. Let's try this again... You said... "I think the fact that RLAG only rides during the hottest time of the year, and damn near work hours, will keep plenty of people off the trail. " My wife isn't able to make the weekday rides because of the early start time... She also doesn't like riding so early (even on weekends) because of the heat. Hopefully you can now make sense of what I said. Hopefully AntonioGG and the old man can make sense of it too.
