  1. What if you're into older women with piles of cash? Hello Mrs. Howell.

  2. Mornings have finally cooled off. I went for my first ride in 2 months and it was actually pretty good. I was a little worried about my cardio, but I have been doing MMA for the last two months (boxing, kickboxing, brazilian jiu jitsu) and the cardio carries over. I also lost about 15 pounds which is pretty amazing as Ive been trying to lose the same 5 pounds for around 10 years. If you need something to complement mtb, I highly recommend it. 1) air conditioned 2) can do it at night 3) good workout in only an hour, builds core, flexibility, and cardio 4) will be able to submit off leash dogs and mountain lions

  4. Those little guys were wonderful: I crashing into a tree and it was AWESOME! This is beautiful and touching in so many ways. Step daughter just moved to Gig Harbor, WA. It's like the most astoundingly scenic village on coastal Maine, with the biggest mountain you've ever seen looming RIGHT THERE on the skyline. I was thrilled that she's living in a scenic place, but, dayum, if the Big One hits or the Rainier blows, it not the place to be. One the other hand,

  6. Once saw a roadrunner on the BCGB and then quickly afterward came across a dead coyote. Very fitting.

  7. So the park in PVille was purpose built for bikes and boards. It is a lot larger and way more spread out. I was told it was due to the safety issues because it is a small area meant for skate boards and not designed to have bikes and boards Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

  8. Been there, done that. Full throttle on a road bike. Helmet saved my life, but not my ribcage. Still not sure if SpiceWookie's venison gift a month prior caused it. :P

  9. I think I kicked off the heated discussion about how hard deception was compared to walnut when I mentioned that it was so popular because it was just a little harder than walnut http://www.bikemojo.com/speak/14-austin-voodoo/91060-brushy-creek-regional-singletrack-66.html#post1122658 Then notyal said it was a couple of notches harder than walnut http://www.bikemojo.com/speak/14-austin-voodoo/91060-brushy-creek-regional-singletrack-68.html#post1122868 Dburatti said 1/2 notch a little later http://www.bikemojo.com/speak/14-austin-voodoo/91060-brushy-creek-regional-singletrack-130.html#post1137607

  10. After I posted above, I remembered another example about how getting used to doing things by light at night is so much different. Any of you that have done sports like softball, if you never played at night, and you are decent at catching balls during the day...the first time (or few times) you play/practice at night, it's pretty shocking how different it is to get a feel for where the ball actually is.

  11. I'm really enjoying both the Peddler's jumps and the new jump line (I've been calling it Jumpin' Jesus...but then I'm a heathen). About 6 to 8 weeks ago I couldn't jump at all. Jumping just never made sense to me, and anything that wasn't a straight drop-off, sent me ass-over end. And that was the case for 19 years. But while playing around at WC's BMX inner jump line, something just clicked, and suddenly I could clean every jump on the inner-most line except for the very last one. And then I went over to Peddlers a couple of weeks ago, and was surprised to find that those jumps looked much smaller than I remembered them in my head, and I could clean everything on the right side (not sure what's going on on the left side, it seems more like a pump track). And then when I found this new jump line last week, sign-unseen on my first run I was almost able to clean the whole line of jumps--I just barely clipped the last one. But then I went back and tried it again, and cleaned the whole line. I'm not too sure how I'd feel about wood lips since I just got comfortable with dirt. Maybe I need to get out to RHR to give them a try. But anyway, thanks for all the work out there! I really didn't expect to learn much new at this point, but these two lines really helped progress my jumping. Yeah, you missed it. It's the single-track in the circle:

  13. Exactly what they were on all the albums prior to him joining. I was a HUGE James Gang fan in the '70s and was unhappy about him joining the Eagles. He was a rock star, and they were a folk band.

  15. Did you get one of these? https://www.amazon.com/OLIGHT-Universal-Flashlight-Lightining-Accessories/dp/B0761RX64G/ref=sr_1_47?dchild=1&keywords=rubber+battery+mounting+straps&qid=1570445822&sr=8-47 Looks like the Sofirn is a diving light, not a bike light.

  16. Good point. Mine have XD (I'm assuming because it is a SRAM drivetrain), but at that price, it may be worth it for some people if they are also eyeing a new cassette.

  17. Glad to hear! We have more elevation to work with at the church and were able to space the jumps further apart to give the rider more time to set up for each jump. We usually try to space them at 20'-22' apart to give you time to throw in a peddle or two and set up, though admittedly, you do have to work to clear the jumps. They will get faster as they get ridden in, but as mentioned earlier, we may put in wood lips to make them faster. The jumps we put in at Peddler are closer together and thus, a bit more technical because we had less elevation/speed to work with. But once you get used to that, you'll be fine.

  18. Beware- looks like XD driver only for that price. How much does a proper Shimano cost? Might still be worth it.

  21. I have always known fur burgers to be something else....another way to call a cat or kitten. edit: rode this morning, actually kinda cool temps. Had a great 2 hour deal. Showed some dudes from Houston around a bit. Was cool to hear their reactions to things on the trail....entrance from BCRT to picnic x, drops on picnic x, your sister’s thong...

  22. So the new area off SN .. that has no legit name so I'm gonna call it Gilligans Playground cuz the random abandoned drug boat there... has had sightings of a creature. It is said to be half coyote and half Red Wolf. There are 2 that run that area. Legit witnesses have seen this beast. Judging by the extraordinary large fur burgers on the trails and jeep roads .. something is there. I saw a road runner Friday afternoon on 1/4 notch so that was a cool thing to see So a road runner and coyote makes sense in that area. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

  23. I got a Dakine as well. I hated the bladder. super-thin material, and I couldn't get the bite valve to work comfortably. swapped out the bladder for a Camelbak one of about the same size. I apparently also hate the new Camelbak bite valves, but fortunately had an extra old school one laying around. Frankenbladder. my only remaining complaint is condensation if I put ice in it. don't have that problem with my Blowfish backpack. but I guess if I'm just doing 'hot laps', I don't need ice water. I'll just get one of my groupies on the tour bus to fix me a frosty beverage between laps.

  26. I run into loose dogs all the time on BCGB. I typically tell people "hey, I saw the cops and they are handing out tickets, it's $500 per dog..." Typically they leash up REAL fast at that point. The only stretch in that is that I never said "today" or "close by." Yes, I have seen cops hand out tickets on the GB, I'm just fudging on the timing. Off leash dogs are not allowed, so technically I could just tell them that, but that never ends well. Those people are typically entitled bonewipes who don't care about others but are very concerned about themselves. So I appeal to that part of them.
