  4. You're probably talking about "Flybys." Because Strava kept getting negative press about that feature being on ["Strava shares your location with strangers!"], they turned it off by default. You have to go into your settings and turn it back on. However, it isn't quite as interesting as it used to be since most folks haven't turned it back on. I'm pretty sure it's a free feature.

  7. It's ok, but I've come to realize that any stout that isn't >=Imperial just tastes a bit "watered down" to me. The Stout Chocula is damn good, but it's also %10abv.

  8. I'm just going to let Willie channel David Bowie as he reminds us love dares you to care for the people on the Edge of the night, and love dares you to Change our way of caring about ourselves. This is our last dance. Until this year, at the very least, is over.

  10. This is what stands out the most to me, and should be shoved down Wilco P&R's throats. They don't have to do jack shit, but say yes, and there would be so much more for the community to have. Including areas like the Wilco Regional park. Look at the demand right now, with this whole Covid fiasco. How much would the tax payers benefit?

  11. Your memory is right, 5-0 was open, were where working on the trail to Mike's Meadow and had already rough cut the trail back as well and started a 3rd line (saving the area below 5-0 for a later) - so there was bout 2 more miles of trail built that we had to block and reclaim beyond 5-0. I told him we were volunteers with the "trail foundation", LOL, and that he looked like he could use the trail 😉 for exercise. At the rate were were going there would have been another 7-8 miles within 6 more months. Granted about 4 of that would have remained on the public land (above and beside Rim/Daves), the rest lost to the development. But we were accounting for that and building the trail in a way to easy connect where we knew the losses would occur. Keep in mind that Peddlers started rogue as well... and it's CP, not Wilco, so the real question is how much MTB trail has Wilco allowed in that time - ZERO! Non of the SW Regional Park is sanctioned and they do not want it, block some of it, discourage using it. There told Josh and I that we could build on Williams Tract (what you all know as River Ranch County Park), but they are excluding MTBs.

  12. I can also attest to the Apple Watch/iCloud solution to tracking and fall detection to be effective. I've never had it mistakenly call 911 on me, but it worked just as intended when I fell at Crystal Falls. I was okay, so I cancelled the 911 call. But it did buzz at me while I was laying there with a message like, "It looks like you've had a fall. Please respond." followed by a count down timer. I tapped the respond button which then asked for clarification with the following replies: "I didn't fall.", "I did fall, but I'm fine.", and something like "I did fall, but I'm hurt." I indicated that I had fallen but was okay and it went back to recording my strava workout. My wife just uses the "Find My" feature in iCloud as I'm fine with her knowing where I am at all times. I got nothing to hide. But the beacon feature on Strava would be helpful for things like the EB or group trips where the group breaks up to hit separate trails. I've been very happy with the accuracy of my strava rides since getting the Apple Watch and using the watch app.

  13. Trent Reznor later said of that song, "I realized it wasn't really my song anymore. It just gave me goose bumps up and down my spine. It's an unbelievably powerful piece of work. After he passed away I remember feeling saddened, but being honored to have framed the end of his life in something that is very tasteful."

  15. Haven't tried yet. Will try the rye at least tonight, maybe even the stout as well. Got a four-pack of each. I know I like rye whiskey and the one rye IPA I had (real ale, I think?) was also really good. Looking forward to trying it.

  17. Kooks like alex jones have been deplatformed through censorship on mainstream social media (twitter, facebook, gofundme etc). Gun companies have been kicked off shopify Create an alternative blockchain based social media platform where centralized censorship isnt possible. Im thinking of a system where people can self censor or delegate censorship to entities that they trust. Get alex jones, donald trump, and other censored personalities to join. Make a billion dollars from that sweet crypto currency Buy land Make mtb trails. This might require you to sell your soul, but it is probably worth it. LMK if you are interested.

  19. It was just this year that I found out Alex Jones is a resident of our fair city and has a studio somewhere in south Austin. Besides being an asshole, he also appears to be a steroid abuser. I find him to have zero redeeming qualities.

  20. My memory of that moment was that it was definitely a seemingly sedentary fat fuck that had a huge issue with trail being so close to his glamorous, cookie cutter spec build home. Last time I rode about a week or two ago, 5-0/up n over was fully open. Good luck trying to stop anything out there. There is simply too much demand for trails and not enough of it. In my worthless opinion, the ones who complain need to create personal wealth and move to enough isolated private land where they will never have to “deal” with people using public land within their view. While I cannot stand multiple unsanctioned lines, I also would be a hypocrite to say that things should always be sanctioned. As a collective, trail users in this area are speaking loudly and clearly that we will not be denied. It’s now been 7ish? years since we finished Deception and how many miles of sanctioned trail have been created on public land in this area since then? Peddlers? Honest question... Edit: it’s been interesting to see just how many and what types of people are enjoying the trails out there. pretty sick

  21. If you have an Apple phone you can enable this and your wife can have real time data all day long. I now reply to "where are you at" with "why are you bothering to ask me this?" I know some guys that don't want their wives to know where they are, but I prefer her having access 100% of the time so that I don't have to have the conversation ever. She now knows that if she refreshes her screen after a minute and the dot moves, don't bother me. After the rider down incident I got a RoadID, it fits right on to my FitBit (or a watch) and has her info.

  22. I was looking for a picture on my laptop when I ran into this old picture (ca. 8/16/2011) of my TrueFabrication gravel grinder waiting for pedals, black seatpost clamp, and bar tape. I had to share it because of the background. Long live Hammerhead bikes!

  23. While I think this is the smart play, and I was very upset at their stripping of all the basic free features...I got weak in a moment of deep solitude in the CO back country last month and paid the piper. Honestly, the 2-3 things I missed the most were: 1) Training Log 2) 'Current day's' stack ranking 3)'I'm Following' stack ranking. All of these use to be free. But I get a lot of enjoyment out of seeing how me and my friends are stacking up. Another thing that I use (and missed) was the view of all my past performances on segments. As my fitness has started to come around, I really couldn't where I am in my own historical context. But I really do hate paying for functionality (of most anything).... Cheers, CJB
