Did 4.3 miles yesterday on Peddlers with my oldest. She wanted to do the "roller coaster section a 3rd time until I offered a bail out point near the parking lot and she realized how tired and sore she was. đ I was amazed she rode every single bridge and attempted the cedar A-frame twice! I can't wait to get her on the 24" Hotrock with a little travel and 7-gears.4 points

Saw this beast at the Govalle trailhead today. Lifted Previa? Thought@cbaron might appreciate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

GTG means to me the trails are ethically rideable! where your not questioning should I be out here. Other than that I draw no other conclusions from the phrase.3 points

I totally agree with this. If we wait for everything to be totally dry than that means parts of it will already back to moon dust.2 points

I think life is short and I want to maximize my enjoyment when I ride. So, Iâd put the wheelset on the bike that makes me smile more and never take it off unless there is a problem. If there is a problem, Iâd mount that second set and ride. If youâre afraid of damaging the carbon wheelset, you probably wonât enjoy riding them because all youâll think about is that rock waiting to destroy them. Just my thoughts. Just rode Peddlers E and W as well with my daughter. With the wet week and changing conditions I had warned her that we'd have to check conditions before riding. East was amazing, no clumping and tacky. We did the rollers a few times and the lead in was so good! West was at the limit, not that it matters with the rain coming.2 points

I'm going to go against the consensus a bit here and say that I don't get too upset about puddles in the "usual places." A persistent puddle means that particular spot needs work. Raise the tread and add drainage. And yes, ride through and not around until it's fixed. Any damage done riding through the puddle will be corrected when the puddle spot is sorted. Avoiding an entire trail because a "usual" spot is wet is pointless. My gauge is mud sticking to the tread or generall very slick trails leaving ruts. Are the unusual spots wet? Then you're not gtg. This also doesn't apply to low laying spots-- like Mark's Art or Mulligan--where an actual stream run through in high water situations.2 points

For the last 3 months or so, our family has been working on clearing out my late MIL's garage, replacing rotted wood including side door and frame, patching small spots, caulking, and finally painting. It started with us going through the inside to clear it out from 30 years of stuff, getting the good stuff to keep, donate, or give away. Then making an appointment at the hazmat disposal site with my wife taking a truckload of stuff, and culminating with hiring a guy to take the rest. They sift through to sell, donate, recycle what they can and dump the rest at the dump. My wife and oldest son almost finished painting it. I'll go tomorrow to finish some indoor electrical work. I wish I had before pictures. Paint prep woodwork (and some indoor insulation + electrical) is what I've been doing the previous two weekends.) Thank goodness for nail guns!2 points

If someone's trail report is simply "Good-to Go" and nothing else, I would expect to encounter dry trail throughout. People who know the area and "local rules" would expect hero dirt after a damp spell. If it's still damp with puddles and you should use caution, then you should say so... IMHO.2 points

I used to carry pretty much everywhere, but now it's a tactical whip in the truck along with pepper spray.1 point

gtg means you can ride without damaging the trail. I will know based on the weather if it will be slick.1 point

Where does she think you guys are going to camp where having a gun handy would make her feel better? The gun isnât worth much without training. In fact, Iâd say without the training the gun is a liability. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Major concerns. Specifically look at the convoluted laws for each state through which you plan to travel. Seriously don't travel through some states with a hand gun not registered in that state. In several states you're better off with an ounce of good than you are a handgun.1 point

To me what Throat describes is the trail itself was fine. However the limestone itself was slick. Right? "Ethically Sketchy" Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk1 point

Personally I would never label something as GTG without warranted qualifiers. For example, many of the trails at Brushy were GTG today if you use the "ethically rideable" criteria. Practically though, nobody really belonged out there this afternoon (based on conditions between 2-3). I consider myself an advanced rider, but needed 3-4 dabs just to get through 1/4 Notch while exercising extreme caution on the slick rocks. Most of our group bailed at Swag Rock given the sketchiness, but a few of us braved it through the first segment of DD before calling it quits. Definitely not GTG IMO.1 point

I rode earlier and did the East half of peddler from Parmer to exit/entrance at the end of my ride. I only hopped on because I saw people on the West side. The part I rode was absolute tits, but I then came upon the chain when exiting. My bad, but at least I didnât get into any mud I guess. Wondering where the sign went that was at the bailout by Picnic X on âDouble Downâ đ¤Ž...it was like brass or something and was a shrine to Rugger. I mean. Thatâs a bitch ass move for someone to do away with that. Someone appreciated what Rugger contributed (which was very significant) and made a sign, albeit cheesy, and it should have stayed there. So again...bitch ass move. It was on the tree where my bike is I think. I at least liked to make fun of him about it, but now I canât because someone is an actual dick. Tapped in to my old school (as far as Brushy goes) trailbuilder bitterness with that move.1 point

Speaking of yellow....I don't remember what I had between my Big Wheel and my Moto-X Fox (a Mexican bike brand, had nothing to do with Fox Racing and was pronounced Moto Equis Fox). It was yellowed chrome all over with yellow parts and red letters and I don't remember much else except that I loved it. I did take it off sweet jumps but it was not very durable. I moved up to what I thought was extremely expensive BMX Huffy ($120 in the mid 80's?). I loved that bike, way lighter than the Moto-X. When we moved back to the US (San Antonio) I upgraded to a Kuwahara Freestyle. I didn't ride it much, didn't do any flatland stuff but that's what I really wanted to do. I don't have any memory what happened to it.1 point

If they don't know, then I'm not going to fault them. Going around the chain on purpose, fuck those people.1 point

I see people jump onto Peddlers from the sidewalk where it crosses. Many going the wrong way. There are no chains there to know it's closed or that it's one way. At least none I've ever noticed.1 point

To me, GTG means the trail is no wetter than "tacky" in a few places, with the exception of low-lying areas in creek beds that always take several days to drain. If there are puddles, the trail is not GTG.1 point
-
Good to go for me would mean the trails are dry and not even tacky, possibly a few damp spots but easily avoidable. Rocky areas would also be dry and not slippery. Sent from my moto g(7) supra using Tapatalk1 point

Yep, honestly, I would be willing to bet US fish and wildlife haven't even been to SW Regional recently and have nothing to do with it. The park is OLD. The caves have been mapped, studied and understood for well over a decade. There should be no surprises. To all of a sudden have an protect species coincidentally found beside 2 neighborhood borders - yea right. Just like the "artifact study" that prevented us from previously building the area below 5-0 - everything west of the double track except Rim was off limits because of "artifacts". Glad Ronan and ARR got that lie exposed and is getting Bob Ross built.1 point
