  1. You'd have to be an idiot to ride in this weather.

  2. Quick edit from Monday. Chickened out on the second drop in snail but was too tired to go back up

  3. Sitting on the porch last night with no power, drinking a cheap temp aged in bourbon barrels. Gotta say, the silence & darkness made for a nice pairing😁

  4. We had a virtual wine tasting yesterday. Sometimes it's good to be the customer. Two bottles of Spanish wine and some food for pairing. But these were awesome and outside of anything that I would ever buy; I am unsophisticated so good wine is wasted on me. The Tinto Pesquera was the better of the two but they were both excellent.

  5. Any damage? My kid went to a neighbor because the oak was bending down on top of his truck. Kid is nicer than me because I dont like the guy

  6. Nice line @1:58! I always hang a sharp left up the rock ramp and power my way up. Your line looks much more efficient.

  9. Finishing off the last of my OF 1920 but will rush out to get some more as it has become perhaps my favorite regular sipper.

  10. I had someone show me that same line on Saturday. Was planning to try and get a video to share it, because it seems like it will be so much more consistent than the bumpy rock ramp. And great video! Just shot after shot of sweet technical goodness. Thanks for sharing!

  12. I have two of these charged at all times. 70,200 mAh. Super handy for camping too.

  13. Reminds me of a joke: AustinBike was up there on the hill with another mountain biker. They see some fishermen out on the lake. He says, 'Look at those idiot fishermen out there in this terrible weather."

  16. If it actually gets above 32 today, as they are predicting (36-40), most of the weight will come off these trees pretty quick. After that it will be cold, but snow/sleet will not stick as bad as wet rain freezing onto branches like yesterday. Lots of firewood to be had, it just might be green. I'm in need of a set of Stans valves to finish my son's bike build. Hopefully some shop is open today.

  17. prepping for Icepocalypse 2021: charged batteries for everything retrieved camping gear from the garage. sleeping bags, pads, and liners are in the living room in case we need to sleep out there by the fireplace took down string lights from backyard. they were connected by a strong wire wrapped around several trees and finally to the roof over my back porch. if a branch falls on one of those wires and the wire doesn't break somewhere else, the wire could pull porch roof off! today if it's warm and dry enough, I'm going to get on top of the house and cut back some branches that are hanging frightening low right now to relieve some of the weight. also: trails are NOT frozen. that might happen in a few days as the temp drops well below freezing, but right now it's really just cold mud.

  19. Our power was out from around 7:30pm until 7:00am. Twas a cold night, but had a pile of blankets and some Netflix stuff downloaded on my laptop.

  20. We planted this little peach tree last year. She already started showing some flowers the last couple days. We’re trying some Christmas lights under a frost blanket to keep her warm.

  22. HOA expense as rhe tree is in a common area. Only thing holding that fence together is the paint 😅

  23. Neighbors tree came down. Unfortunately it didn't take my fence with it. Power out as of 5:50 or so

  24. I won't be surprised if I lose a few Live Oak branches as I have around a dozen of those with drooping branches on my property. My biggest concern though is the Gem Magnolia that I planted a few years ago in my front flower bed. It is contorted in every which way right now and I'm not sure there is anything I can really do short of busting out a flame thrower. This shit really sucks!

  27. Got a bunch of trash. Most of the poop bags were by the creek crossing. The thing I wasn't prepared for was the amount of dog poop trail side not in bags. Super gross, I suppose I couldn't see it while I was going fast. There are limits to my altruism.

  28. I spent some time there looking for a better line a couple weeks ago. I found that line and it seems to require less power up top. It is just kind of hidden by the obvious line. @Kobra Kai MTB Guy I have had my battles with it until recently. I couldn’t take it anymore 😂

  30. @Morris I've never seen anyone actually ride that drop at 0:37 (before the skinny). I roll it in E-W. To see you drop it then make the skinny is pretty impressive!

  31. $15 a bottle is probably our average. Some below, some above. Best red wine I ever had was a Haut-Médoc in Paris Christmas 2012 for 14 Euros in the neighborhood wine store (got cheese from the neighborhood charcuterie and bread from the neighborhood bakery, one of our best Christmases ever). Close 2nd was a bottle in a family restaurant somewhere in the Loire Valley in the spring of 2000. It had a hand-written label. The stone building and fireplace/grill looked like it was 1000 years old. I wish I knew where it was exactly because I'd love to go back. Most disappointing bottle I think was a $45 of Haut-Médoc a few years ago, trying to find that magic again. Man, I can't wait to travel again. I'm going to all the places, eating all the food, and drinking all the wine.

  32. I had a D40 for years. It took a lot of abuse and worked great for most everything I was doing at the time. Nikon sold a gazillion of those things.

  34. Alright, wheels are all built. I bought a set of cheap stems off Amazon and of course one sheered off during inflation. So got to track down a set of nice heavy Stan's stems (vs cheap ass aluminum). Rebuilt the first brake lever, which was easy, just took time. Gotta say @AustinBike you are hard as shit on your stuff and have some toxic aluminum melting sweat. (Bob gave me the Hope's off your old Niner). Will rebuild the other lever today and shorten hoses for the small frame, then bleed. After that I'll bring it all inside and make the Boy help with the rest of assembly. So maybe by Sunday we will be ready to ride, though no place to go.

  35. When they dont make incandescent lamps (bulbs) easy to get anymore its hard to generate heat anymore. Going from 90 watt flood to a 18 watt LED is great for Energy consumption but those 90 watt lamps used to really save us in these situations.

  36. Our power was out from 5:15 am until 7:30 am. Makes us appreciate having natural gas. I had just put in a gas log in our fireplace two days ago. It doesn't put off a lot of heat but it would be enough to keep us warm if we did have to go through a long power outage. Also we were able to make some French press coffee. The power lines are underground in our neighborhood. I had just told my wife that we're pretty safe about our power not going out. So it's my fault it did.

  37. My wife makes a beef bourguignon pot pie that gives you a heart attack just looking at it. It's delicious but it takes her a good part of the day to make it. It's amazing how slow cooking can make a crappy piece of meat so tasty and tender.

  40. Just make sure you video it. One of my live oaks has all its mass to one side. It's pretty old and strong, so branches are holding on...but the lawn was bulging on the opposite side. So I went out and trimmed it a bunch and cut one big branch off hoping it stays upright. One of my oaks in the back (Red? Spanish? The ones that turn red with the pointy leaves) has a branch that may snap.

  42. Davey Tree trims my trees every year, and our power is underground. So far all good, except for the 6 pound dogs unhappy about having to go out to take care of dog business.

  44. These asshole dog owners that don't pick-up will be the reason they'll eventually have to ban off-leash at places like Walnut Creek. They're the reason it has already gone away at other places. I know some of you are responsible dog owners and like off-leash so it will suck.

  45. Looking forward to another round of videos showing how everyone hits a feature. It was fun to see things through @Morris's eyes last time :). I've got a line through the big G-Out that works sometimes W-E, but I'd like to get better. E-W I'm pretty solid.
