RidingAgain
The thread "Need To Rebuild a Fox Shock" took an interesting turn to vintage bike value... I thought it's a topic worth discussing. Who didn't want this back in the day... Edited April 9, 2019 by RidingAgain
RedRider3141
Meh, there are some of us riding 10+ year old bikes by choice and some of us by necessity. If I had 3K to drop on a brand new bike I would. Either way I enjoy every minute on the trail with my 26'r.
mack_turtle
I kind of want to try riding an older bike on trails. My current bike is not "high end" or "cutting edge" but I would call it "comfortably contemporary." I'd like to try a 26er hardtail with linear pull brakes, narrow handlebar, and an 80mm fork for comparison. One thing I thing for which I will never feel nostalgic is tubed tires and carrying multiple tubes to finish a single ride. Eff that.

Eff that. I was thinking that Yeti or similar would be fun both on Walnut group ride or a solo Brushy ride. But I'd certainly give it a split tube-tubeless setup first! CBaron
I keep going back to this thread. I love how clean, retro and period specific this is (except the tires). 🙂 -CJB
larlev
Ah, the good ol Manitou fork. Had the 3 on my first stumpy. Thought it was the shick back then. Elastomers and all I'm looking for a 92 Stumpjumper now Edited April 9, 2019 by larlev
jcarneytx
I really want to "upgrade" my Trek VRX with an airshock/fork combo. Best I could do was get a new low-end 100mm fork; couldn't find an appropriate length shock. Even the fork, though one version of the bike was originally spec'd with a 100mm fork, this 100mm fork axle-crown is much higher when compared to original Judy XC I had on it. I have tried to ride it at Walnut, but it is so harsh it is not fun at all.
AntonioGG
If any of you restorers want a Mag21 let me know. I have the syringe and the original manual.
AntonioGG
BTW, that Mag21 had gone to a Kestrel CS-X, 1993 I think. I wish I'd asked for the original Kestrel EMS fork. That bike is still in service with my brother with an Easton CrMo rigid fork.

Anita Handle
1998ish Dekerf Generation. What I miss when I ride it on trails is disc brakes and a set of rims that is solid on the tubeless conversion. I use to commute and get street miles. JRA
Not a mountain bike but it is vintage and gets ridden occasionally. Early 80s Laguna frame and fork was saved from Yellow Bike a few years ago for a song. Edited April 10, 2019 by JRA

Yosmithy
This was my very first real "Mountain Bike" bought new. It would sound really cool if I said that I would really love to get a chance to ride one again, but I look at this thing and I honestly would have no wish for that abuse again. http://mombatbicycles.com/MOMBAT/Bikes/1987_Fisher_Montare.html I don't even remember what I did with it. It was roached, I do remember that.
