AustinBike
Did a greenbelt ride yesterday, on a climb up to a former retail store I stopped to catch my breath, leaning onto a tree to steady myself. Put my hand into a whole bunch of it. That is all. Ride safe. 1 1
Ridenfool
WHAT? We're out of Poison Ivy already? The season just started. (I was just itching to make a smart-ass comment) Edited March 21, 2019 by Ridenfool
Seths Pool
So are ticks and I’ve seen shit loads of scorpions 🦂 everywhere between RPR, Cat Mtn, and bandera bike park in the last few weeks!
AntonioGG
Scorpions out during the day time? I'd never seen them in the day. One time after working under my car in the garage late at night, I came back in the house without realizing I had one on my shoulder. Moc 5
Oh, and rattlesnakes, too. We saw one on the upper loop at Flat Rock yesterday. (By we saw one, I mean Hoss may have run over it almost catching its tail in his rear wheel and Karen actually saw the thing.)

They weren't out and about, they were under the rocks. 1 hour ago, RedRider3141 said: All I've been seeing is Squirrels and Lizards! Leafkiller
I thought poison ivy was year round here in Texas. At least to me it seems.

It's still there, but the leaves are gone. With all the rain we've had, I expect jungle-like profusions of PI.

Would you go so far as to say these profusions could ascend to the level of being Magnum PI?
Barry
I can attest to the fact that poison ivy is out. I don't recall it happening, but it got me but good. Be careful on the south side.

Cafeend
Every year when this inevitable topic comes up , I cringe. People and PI are the two reasons I dont go to Walnut anymore despite being a fun and great trail
GFisher
I have been trying to stay off the busier trails and somehow my right arm found a nice vine somewhere.
The Tip
After every ride I just assume that I brushed up against some and do the Dawn wash down.
William_Cannon
After every ride I just assume that I brushed up against some and do the Dawn wash down.Yup - shower with dawn dish soap after every ride. And yes, PI is out in full force. Some of it has me wondering if it’s mutated from ivy to tree it’s so damn tall.
June Bug
Confirmation as of 4:37 pm. It's not the heat, IT IS THE HUMIDITY. The section where you come out of Tangle of Trails and head over to Church Hill is completely overgrown with PI at WC. Solid. Also, there is an infestation of squirrels; they're everywhere. The internet offered this helpful information. Quote From a distance, it can be difficult to tell [male and female squirrels] apart, but close observation of physical characteristics and behaviors -- especially those associated with reproduction -- can reveal a squirrel's sex.
